Officially on the road to my new life.

Mar 18, 2009

Let me start off by saying the seminar at my local hospital never happened, because of the snow that day, they cancelled it.  But I did go and meet with my surgeon and the counselour on Monday, 3/16.  I am now offically on the road to my new life and couldnt be happier.
They gave me a checklist on all the things that need to be done before they get the clearance for the surgery.  Like going to the Gastroentorologist, get lab work done, etc. I also have to go to two of their post-op meetings, where I'll meet people like me, going in and even people who've had it done already.
I'm still going to the seminar at the hospital next month. They hold a seminar 1x a month. Anything I can do to help me with information. Although I have to say, the counselor was very happy with the fact that I already had alot of knowledge and did some homework on it. She even had recommended this site to visit, but I already did that!  LOL.
I have an appt with my general physician next week, obviously I have to see him once a month until approval. Then he will recommend the other dr's that i need to see.
So, here I am, on the road to my life. This is going to be an exciting and scary journey. But one that I am looking forward to.
