Sleep apnea testing done!

May 15, 2009

Hi, well, just to keep updated, On Monday night, around 9:30 the nurse called and told me that they had a cancellation and wanted to know if I wanted to come and get it done, instead of waiting until July!  Thankfully I have a wonderful husband and he told me to pack my pillow and go...hehe!! Normally you would go in at 9 (in my case it was later)  they would wake you up at 6 am and then you would shower and head home.  My husband was supposed to be in his office at 6 am to start his route, (good thing he's the owner...lol). He just had his driver pick him up. I told the nurse and she told me she would wake me up at 5:45. She forgot but that;'s OK, I was up at 6 and just went straight home and showered at home.  It was funny what I looked like driving home.  My hair was sticking up all over the place and I had little pieces of gauze pasted to my head!! LOL! People probably thought I'm a nut!
The test wasn't toooo bad, i was supposed to sleep on my back, which I dint do normally, due to the fact it's not comfortable ( I have a large chest), so I tried to sleep half on my side with wires attached to my head, legs, arms... not the best sleep I've had. Then I woke at about 3 am, had to pee soooooo bad, and I couldn't just up and walk to the bathroom with all the wires so I calling her (which she told me to do in case I did have to visit the girls room) and no answer, I called her like 5 times.... so by the time I woke up I was so bloated that I couldn't even go! LOL.  Sorry, I know, to much info.
The room was very nice, it was a bedroom, private, own bathroom, a dresser with a mirror, towels, nice curtains. not at all what I had envisioned in my mind.
Anyway, that's my sleep apnea testing experience.
