Sleep Apnea Testing

May 03, 2009

On Friday, 5/1, I went to the pulmonologist. Had all the required testing done and I was told that everything was very good. Then the Dr asked me the traditional questions,  if I snore, I told him, according to my husband, rarely, and if I do, it's very light. Then he asked me if I'm tired during the day, I told around 2 or 3 o'clock, but I also have 2 boys at home, ages 3 & 6.
Well, now he wants to do a sleep apnea test, he'll do a split test (do it in 1 night instead of 2) because I'm going for the surgery.  He made it seem it's his standard procedure, but from what I can tell, noone I know that has had WLS had to have this done, unless the showed signs of sleep apnea. I guess those little things are signs, I don't think they are, but I guess better safe then sorry.
The thing that is upsetting is , they don't have any appointments available until July, that's when I was hoping to have the surgery. They did say that they would call me if anyone canceled and would keep me priority.  But lets face it, how many time have I heard that from a Dr's office??lol. Anyway,i guess it's just a bump in the road. Nothing serious, but just annoying.
