RE: Less than driver's license weight

I pulled my drivers license out. I wrote down 190 and haven't weighed that in over 15 years! I think I never wanted to put down over 200 (didn't want hubby to see that! Like I could hide it or something).
Nan that is another WOW moment - reaching your "I am ok with the weight on my drivers license moment"....hehehehe

RE: 6-15 Mini-WOWs

WOW WOW WOW...This was great I was down on the puter a couple of days and have been catching up on the posts. This is great cause these mini-wows make a whole BIG WOW. My mini-wow - I was giving my husband an update on my weight loss (I am now at 203 - 4lbs to go to be under 200!) when he said "I can't believe you weigh over 200lbs - you are so tiny".

Now now I know I am far from tiny but compare to where I was I appear to be lots smaller. My mid-section is just sooooo big - I can't wait till it catches up to the smaller parts of my body!blog Layouts

((((((((((( NAN ))))))))))) You have gone through this pain, you sharing it and being so honest about it here will help the rest of us. I know I was an emotional eater in control of my "out of control" eating. I am glad you didn't stop off to have a drink...because we all know it feels good to numb, but maybe that's what we all need to learn about our emotions because we have been so numb for so many years that I think we are going to be better mothers (fathers), wives (husbands), children, and all in general better people - because we will be dealing with our emotions. You pulled through like a champ - but I wouldn't have doubted that from you for a minute. blog Layouts

I almost forgot my weekend WOW moment

Jun 13, 2006

This weekend I went to baby shower with my two boys. My 14 yo (who looks about 16) was hanging out playing the games and we were all laughing away. A woman who I had never meet asked me if he was my son - I of course answered yes - she looked at me and said you look way too young for him to be your son.

I never had heard that I look too young to be Martin's mom but boy was I beaming. Maybe it was the new outfit I was wearing or maybe the 56lbs I had lost somewhere in space!!!!!

I just wanted to remind everyone how much their personal and expert thoughts are appreciated by me and I am sure many others on the board. We have such an informed group.

Other than not letting food control me anymore - I don't feel like I am missing anything! To hear your stories motivates and reminds me that I am not alone, that there are sooooo many of us out there. I wish I could find a way to hand everyone cards about VSG and the board without offending or making people feel bad. I don't think I would have appreciated anyone coming up to me and handing me a card, but my God I wish I would have done this sooner enjoyed more of MY LIFE - I can't even imagine the feeling I will get once I reach goal - or even the feeling of weighing less than 200lbs. What ever it is I go through I know you will be here and you will understand when other don't. I LOVE THIS GROUP   God bless and have a great week. blog Layouts

As I look back at pictures of myself I look fine (I was slightly overweight) - but myself image has always been that of the "fat girl" because in comparison to everyone else I was taller and wider.

((((((((((AMY)))))))))))) welcome home - I am in tears right now reading your post. I went to Marine World yesterday. I am three months post op and down 53lbs - WHAT A DIFFERENCE 53LBS MAKE! I rode the rides with my kids most of the time them trying to "catch" up to me (I am a much faster walker - always thinking of burning calories) - I tried a few bites (remember our bites are now nibbles for all of you who are pre-op) of dippin dots ice cream - and woke up this morning weighing 1 lb less. I can't wait to walk in the turn-stiles straight on. I feel your high! My son Chato was so excited that I was getting on the rides (I think he could hardly believe that I was even remotely interested in getting on them).

RE: Hunger after VSG?

I am almost 3 months out and occasionally my stomach says I need to eat something-it really is hard to explain because pre-op combination of mental and physical hunger was obliviously dangerous - it doesn't go along hand and hand anymore - maybe that is the difference?

RE: Happy "29th"..........I mean "39th" Birthday to ME!!!! LOL!

Happy 29th birthday Amy...We appreciate you here and can't wait for you to get back and give us your wow moments update! Give Mickey & Minnie huge hugs from us folks here at the board.

I am going to an amusement park on Sunday and just this morning during the my walk I shared with my husband how excited I am to go...that I will be walking all day and I am confident that I won't be holding people back by wanting to sit and "enjoy" the view. My dh looked at me (remember he is the one with the naturally athletic build - looks like he works out - his biggest work out is lifting a Corona bottle for a drink) and said I never realized how hard it was for you - your poor feet.
