1 year since surgery

Jun 29, 2012

I am happy to say that as of today I have lost 175 lbs.  total.  I had hoped to have lost more, but I am still happy.  I still have a way to go to reach my ultimate goal. Actually,  I have more to lose than many others  wanted to lose from their start, but I am hopeful that  slow and steady wins the race. I knew when I started that I would not fix my problem with food overnight.  I still struggle with temptations, but even the slow progress and sagging skin are better than weekly feeling my life was slowing slipping away.  I have reached many of my goals, wearing girlie sandals again, walking through the mall with my daughter, shopping at Wal-mart without using a motorized cart, getting out of the 400s and getting out of the 300s.  I am still working on riding a bike again.  I have the bike all ready to go , but it is just too hot outside, so I am going to wait awhile until I can actually enjoy riding, but I feel I can do it, and that is enough for now.    When I originally set my weight loss goals, I did not figure in stalls.  And I have lived through my share of stalls, but truthfully even with getting stuck from time to time,  I am most grateful for not falling back into binging mode where my weight slowly and sometime quickly came back on.  I has been a tough year with being out of work and financial worries, but I a happy to be working again.  All in all I have been  blessed  with good health, a job, healthy children and good friends.  Thanks to all of you on OH for your support.  My best  to all!

13 weeks out- stalls suck!

Sep 15, 2011

This month I have lost the same pounds over and over.. . .  hense the coment Stalls suck.   My goal was to loose another 25 pounds, but I did not make it.  I lost 12. Every time I think I am past the stall, I gain a few pounds back the next day.  So I am not sure if  I am past it or not.  Still, I am greatful for all the weight I have lost - 116 total.  I lost another 3 inches off my waist this month.  Still having trouble getting in enoungh protein.  I have been under a lot of stress being out of work, and I really can't eat much.  most things turn my stomach after a few bites, and I gag on the protein drinks, but I still have my hair.  I ordered some protein pudding someone on the forum recommended and a I hope it helps.  All and all I am happy with my losses rexcept the loss of my job.    Somewhere there has to be a need for an Art/English teacher.

Two months out

Aug 14, 2011

Well, my weight seem to come off in chunks.  It is like I don't loose for days then suddenly I drop 4 pounds.  Well I am down 104 now and feeling pretty good, but I am still having back pain.  I started exercising again today and boy did my back hurt afterwards.  My doc plans on taking Xrays next week, so maybe that will answer some questions.  One interesting thing happened, I went to the dentist last week and saw the picture they took last year and wow I can really see a difference in my face.  My next big goal is to loose 150 and I will be half way there.  So here we go.
Goals:
6/13/11 Pre-surgery goal: 50 lbs.  Lost 50 lbs.
7/13/11 -30 lbs. actual loss -32

8/13/11 -25 lbs  actual loss -22
9/13/11 -25   Here's hoping I make it.

On a  side note, last night was my daughters 9th birthday.  She had a slumber party.  Little girls everywhere!  It seemed like a thousand of them! Pizza , birthday cake and this morning biscuits and eggs.      I am proud to say I passed on it all.  With the stress and temptation in my face,  I thought I want the weight loss more than the food. Feeling pretty good this morning and the scales rewarded me with a 101 loss!  Woo Hoo!  Happy day everyone!

97 pounds lost

Aug 02, 2011

Well my excitement about exercising fizzled quickly.  I must have really overdone it cause my back has been killing me since I went swimming.  I still plan to go back when I can walk more than from the bed to my chair.  Ouch!  I am pleased with my weight loss; almost 100 lost.  Can't wait to reach that goal.  .  Discovered beef does not go down good even pureed.  Cottage cheese has become an all time favorite.

Started exercise today

Jul 30, 2011

Was released to swim this week. My incision still has not healed, but the nurse gave me waterproof bandage to put over it so I can swim.  The water felt good, but my back hurt before and after my swim.  I feel I can finally do all I can do to use my sleeve.  I plan to swim myself into a healthier body.

6-28-11 Stall seems to be over.

Jul 28, 2011

I finally dropped below my lowest weight.  89 pounds down.  I joined a gym and I plan to start tomorrow.  Wow pureed food is so much heavier than liquids.  2 -3 oz and I am done and stuffed.  Getting close to protein levels without liquid protein.  Yeah!  Century club here I come.  Oh I forgot I am down 5 inches in my waist.  Woo hoo!

10 day stall -will it ever end?

Jul 26, 2011

I am a little frustrated, but my doc says I am doing great and to stop weighing everyday.  I am 6 weeks out and transitioning to pureed food. I was so looking forward to something besides soup.  Well, my son wanted to make gumbo tonight( I love gumbo) and I ask him to puree the sausage he put in it.  Bad Bad Bad!  I had misgiving about having sausage because of the fat in the sausage, did not have to worry about the fat because I could stand it pureed, so I still had just broth.  LOL!  88 pounds down with my presurgery loss.  I am so ready to reach 100.

Jul 22, 2011

I have been loosing the same few pounds (up and down up and down) for over a week.  When does it end?  Started pureed food tonight; wow I could feel the resistance.  Can't wait to see the scales start moving again.  How long does the first stall last?
