I TOTALLY LOVED MARY MURPHY WHEN I FIRST MET HER.

I really liked Mary Murphy. She is caring and I felt she really cared about me as a person. She is strict with the exercise, I have been doing my best to work out 4 times a week. She explained everything to me about what can go wrong. I was able to ask her questions. She told me that I was in good hands.

First impression was rather dry. But in the hospital, she was the greatest!! I have seen her once at my 1 month post-op visit, and she gave me lots of praise, it made me feel so good. It made me want to do even better. She was great, and I would reccomend her to anyone. Her bedside manner was exceptional, and she made me feel like a friend, rather than a patient.

I met with Dr. Mary Murphy on 11/4/03. My impression of Dr. Mary Murphy is that she is very dedicated and professional. During my consultation of her I was very nervous and she was so very sweet. She explained everything in detail and told me exactly what she needed me to do. The last thing she told me "Don't worry, we will take care of you". So when I walked out of her office I was more convinced and determined to have this surgery.

I just loved Dr. Murphy from the moment she walked in. She immediately made me feel comfortalbe and at ease. She obviously had read my file because she was so prepared and familiar with my history and current circumstance. She spent quite a bit of time with me and my roommate, making sure we understood exactly the procedure, what I needed to do before the surgery and what to do and expect after the surgery. After meeting with Dr. Murphy, I have every confidence that this is the right decision for me and that I have the best surgeon possible. In addition, the entire staff at Pacific Bariatric have been terrific.

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Mary Murphy. She was very pleasant and easy to talk with. She outlined the whole procedure to myself and my friend who will be going down to San Diego with me for the surgery.

The office staff at Pacific Bariatrics was very pleasant also and gets you in quickly.

Dr. Mary Murphy stressed the importance of exercise before and after surgery.

So far I would rate Dr. Mary Murphy a 10. I have not heard anything bad about her or her surgical techniques.

My first impression was made at the intro seminar. I liked her forthrightness enough to request her as my surgeon. My opinion only got better as time went on.

While the office staff and appointments had good spots and rough ones, when crunch time came all that became unimportant.

I had complications through no fault of anyone and when I was in trouble, Dr Mary, the Anesthesiologist, the Nurses and everyone else involved came through for me. I got more than my share of care and attention. They were great. I owe my life to Dr Mary and the rest of the team.

I was informed of the risks and responsibilities before the surgery. I expect that if I follow the after care plan, I will get the same great treatment and have wonderful results.

Overall I would rate Dr Mary as the best choice anyone could make in a surgeon and her support team is just as competant and caring.

My very first impression of Dr. Hyland was that he was a very tall and attractive man. After talking to him for a few minutes I remember thinking to myself..wow what an upfront and honest person. I never once felt uncomfortable meeting with him or even disscussing my weight..which happens to be one of the most personal things I can talk to with someone. I also remember falling in love with the office staff. Especially since I am from Colorado so my contact has been limited. I am 7 months out of surgery and I can still call the office and say that this is "Meg from colorado" and they know exactly who I am. Overall I am thrilled with my progress and if I ever had to go through the entire experience again I would rather have it be here than anywhere else!!

Since my surgeon was sick Dr. Mary graciously stepped in and performed my surgery. She is great and treats everyone as if they are the only patient she has!!

DR MARY MURPHY IS A VERY NICE AND ENERGETIC PERSON. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE LIKES HER, I HAD MY CONSULATION ON AUG 25TH. I CAME TO MY APPT WITH A NOTEBOOK ON MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO THIS SURGERY AND MY JOURNAL. SHE DIDNT CARE TO SEE ANY OF IT. I WORK OUT AT CURVES 3 TIMES A WEEK AND SHE WANTED ME TO GO MORE OR HAVE OTHER EXERCISE. I HAD LOST 8 INCHES ON CURVES AND 20 POUNDS SINCE I STARTED THIS, I WAS DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY QUESTIONS WITH ME AND I THOUGHT A CONSULTATION WAS A TIME WHERE MY QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED. WHEN I TOLD HER I HAD QUESTIONS AFTER THE 15-20 MIN CONSULTATION SHE SAID TO CALL THE OFFICE. THIS IS MY LIFE AND I JUST THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE MORE TO THE CONSULTATION. IT MAY HAVE JUST BEEN A BUSY DAY. AND POSSIBLY SHE WAS RUSHED TO SEE ALL OF HER PATIENTS. I THINK SHE WILL BE THERE FOR ME IN SURGERY. SOMETIMES YOU EXPECT MORE DO TO THE ME FACTOR BUT THEY DO THOUSANDS OF SURGERIES AND HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY GET TO THE CORE OF THE MATTER IN THE CONSULTATION. I STILL WANT HER TO BE MY DOCTOR BECAUSE SHE IS SO POSITIVE AND THAT IS A VERY GOOD THING.
