I think the general female concensus is ...Wow what a cutie! And he is ... but most of all he is so genuinely concerned for his patients. He has a wonderful beside manner and make you feel very comfortable about the procedure. The office staff is also wonderful. In the days prior to my surgery, I must have called 2-3 times a day with some question. They never made me feel like I was a bother and they were always helpful. Both DRs. Davis were friendly and approachable, as was the staff. Also, they were very thorough. They insist on maintaining a relationship with patients after surgery. Along with lifelong follow up visits, they also have a support group for their patients and organize fun activities for them. Prior to surgery, each patient must attend a seminar and read a very thorough packet about obesity, surgery, risk, and aftercare. I work with a number of physicians in my job, and I believe that not only is Dr. Garth Davis a great Dr., he is a great person.

My first impression of Dr. Garth was his knowledge of obesity as an illness instead of a habit of "lazy people". He seemed to really understand that there is a difference. I was impressed with his presentation and all the information that I got from it. My personal consultation with him went very well. I was a little nervous and probably could have asked more questions that I wished I had. I will be asking those in our next meeting. I loved his personality and the fact that he seemed to really care about my health and me as a person.
As far as the office staff go, I have to say that Lana goes above and beyond. She has been so wonderful to me and has really helped me in dealing with the insurance company. Thank you Lana for everything!!!

I first met with Dr. Garth and had a great first impression of him. He will be my surgeon for several reasons including his knowledge, bedside manners, and the fact that he is on my insurance. The staff has been helpful and courtious.

I thought the Dr's. Davis were great. Both he and his son are extremely passionate about what they do and I'm very impressed with their credentials.

They took as much time as I needed during the consult and the office staff is very in touch with your needs. They return calls and follow up with every issue. They are GREAT!

I thought he was wonderful. He made me feel at ease. He had a nice sense of humor and seemed to truly care. His staff seemed very nice and knew exactly what would be needed for the different insurances.
They also have a good aftercare program. He addressed all the rewards and risks of surgery. They have a 100% no deaths rate which I found to be most comforting. He works side by side with his father Robert Davis M.D. which I also found to be a great thing. I would highly recommed him and his staff.

POST-OP (day 6): I can't say enough about how wonderful "Big D" and "Little D" are!!! God truly guided me to Garth and Robert Davis. My surgery was textbook and I feel FANTASTIC! I really had no pain to speak of and I believe that's due to their extensive background in this procedure.

I was up walking the halls 5 hrs. post op and felt great! I've been home doing things around the house and walking up and down the stairs, feeling no pain! It's a miracle and I owe it all to Drs. G & R Davis. BEST bedside manner I've ever seen. They give us, who had almost given up hope, a start at a new, healthier life and for that I, and my family, are forever grateful.

ps. 6 days post-op and I've lost 10 lbs. Many, many thanks, Garth!

PRE-OP: My first impression of Dr. Garth Davis (who is performing my surgery with his father, Dr. Robert Davis) was great and has only strengthened. He perfomed surgery (gall bladder) on my daughter a few years ago.

Office staff is very professional. Maybe a bit too busy (or understaffed) since the doctors are so good, they have a big following (pardon the pun!).

Dr. Garth Davis (and I understand his Dad is too!) is very personable, professional but down-to-earth, putting the patient at ease. Very empathetic to the subject of obesity.

Lots of aftercare emphasis, i.e., post-op instructions, nutrition, support groups, etc.

Risks (as scary as they are) are thoroughly discussed. Just ask him if you take alot of ibuprofen! ;-)

Garth is a 12 in the rating scale of 1-10! And, I can't go without saying, ladies, he (AND his Dad) are cuties! When my daughter had her surgery, my girlfriends and parents met Dr. G. The girls said "what a hottie!" My mother called him "Doogie" for Doogie Howzer....she thought he was young AND cute. :-)

Surgical Comp, bedside manner? Well, BOTH, of course! And from my personal experience, Dr. G is extremely skilled at both!

I have been researching wls for over two years now. I have been to four other doctors and seminars. Dr.Garth Davis is the first surgeon I have visited that I really feel comfortable with. Dr.Davis works with his father Dr.Robert Davis. Dr. Davis is very personable and carring. He is willing to answer in question you have and will spend as much time with you as you need. I have never felt like I was being rushed through his office. Wls is only 40% of his practice so I do not feel like he is just rushing patients through to try to get as many surgeries as he can every month. He has a great after care support group which I am looking forward to being apart of. There is nothing so far that I dislike about Dr. Davis or his office staff. I would recommend to everyone considering wls. Dr. Davis went over all the risks of surgery no matter how great or small. He did not hold anything back. I am very fortunate to have finally found a great doctor.

I had heard so many good things about him.He came highly recommended by a friend of mine who used to work at Methodist. She was referred by some radiologists she worked with.

Phoebe is great. She always answers any questions, and so pleasent about it. She has really been on my insurances butt.

I would recommend the Davis team to anyone.

They did stress afercare a lot in the seminar.

They explained all the risks of this surgery.
I have my trust with them. I ma not worried.

When i went for my initial consultation I was totally impressed with the overall process of how things were explained in detail. Nothing was sugar coated. Dr. Garth and Dr. Robert are very thourough in explaining the entire process and they answered any and all questions honestly. After the session I met with Dr. Garth he was very thourough about checking my medical background and explained my part to prepare for this surgery. He is by far the best surgeon I have ever come across. When i went back for my pre-op exam and consult I had put on some extra weight and he was very concerned about my safety to the point of wanting to postpone my surgery. I promised him I would lose the weight needed and I did. He was never rude or made me feel bad at any time. His bedside manner is #1 and has a wonderful sense of humor to boot. His professionalism is the best in the world. He cares for each and every individual and it shows in everything he does. He takes this surgery very seriously as well as the aftercare program and support group meeetings. He doesn't sugar coat anything about this surgery however he is very empathetic towards the struggles we go through before and after. I feel very grateful to God above that i was so blessed to have found such a wonderfully skilled and loving surgeon. He will always be #1 in my book and I could never think of recommending anyone else to handle such a extreme surgical procedure. I have full trust in Dr. Garth and his father Robert. The staff is just as awesome and everyone there is very caring and helpful. To anyone who is considering this surgery I recommend that you choose this wonderful team of Surgeons and their staff as your last stop.
I love these people!!!! :o)

I think Dr. Garth Davis, and his father, Dr. Robert Davis, are true pioneers in this industry. They understand that obesity is a genetic problem and do not berate you for being heavy. I have only met with them once, where I went to the office for the first meeting. They did give a very good over-all presentation on the surgical treatment of morbid obesity, which I found very interesting and they answered most of my questions. I have liked their office personnel, generally, where they helped me get approval from my insurance company. I go in for my pre-op appointment next week, and so, I will have more to say about them then. I'm scheduled for my Roux-N-Y on November 9, 2004.
Lately, I have read that most of the problems associated with deaths and other complications from gastric bypass were 90% caused by the lack of expertise of the surgeons performing it. This is where the Dr. Davis' excel. They have performed over 200 procedures, and have not had one death yet. They have an excellent track record, and this is where you need to spend some time researching and finding out about your proposed doctor's credentials.
