Hosein Yasrebi Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression about Dr.Yasrebi was that I was a little scare because he looked like a very strict Dr. But all that change as the months went by, I realized that if he was strict was for the smiple reason that he cares a lot about his patients and there results. His office staff are the best from a scale of one to ten they would get a ten. Michele and Linda are very sweet and understanding, helpful in many ways.Actually there is nothing I dislike about Dr. Yasrebi, everything he did was for the best interest of my health.Future patients should know about him that he cares and he his very concern about there health, but also each patient should also put lots of effort in helping themselfs. Before the surgery we had a conference in his office with the persons that were going to take care of us the first couple a weeks. In this chat he told us everything that involve the surgery, it was like a little education class. At the end he gave us a little test to make sure he understood everything he had said.He wouldn't mind if we ask question, because he was there to help us understand every detail about thte surgery, and it really did help. You know the rating I would give my Dr. on a scale 1 - 10, would over pass the ten, he is the best Dr. I have met. He didn't mind when I called him on a Saturday at one in the morning,he help me from that morning on with my problem. What he did from that moment and the next two weeks, no other Dr. would be so concern like Dr. Yasrebi. There is one thing I would like to tell Dr. Yasrebi," Thank You for everything, for the way you took care of me for those two weeks." Despite of what I went through Yes I would do it iver again if I had to. I had my surgery in late September 2002, up to this date February 2003, I have lost 85 Pounds.

First impression of him was in a support group meeting, I felt that he was a very meticulous surgeon who took this more seriously than anyone else. My impression has never changed. He can be very harsh if you do not adhere strictly to his plans, understandably, he has a perfect record. I understand how he expects his patients to put forth a 100% effort since he himself does. The aftercare was emphasized very much. He is so dedicated. I had my surgery Wednesday morning, and Wednesday night he was up in my room walking the hallways with me. He calls you at home at night to make sure that you are up walking, and make sure your temperature is okay, and that breathing is normal. I would rate him as high as possible. I was only in the hospital overnight, going home less than 24 hours after my surgery. I think that surgical competance is definately a winner, but it wouldn't be anything without the witty bedside mannor.

My first imperssion was "I'll never make the weight loss to actually have my surgery".
He became my favorite doc since he worked wonders for me.
The staff are great, very supportive during the time I really needed encouragement.
I didn't like the diet.
He is very strict about the weight lost. He will cancel your surgery if progress is not wth the weight lost needed before surgery.
Yes, I had weekly visit after my surgery for the first 4 weeks.
I had to bring a family member with me to a meeting with the doctor to discuss the risks of the surgery. I also received a list of those complications and had to sign a consent form which indicated that I understood the risks involved. Possibly death.
He's a very good.
The doctor was attending his daughter's graduation from college the same weekend, I had surgery. He had flown to New York and I had to page him with a problem. He called me back in the middle of the graduation. It is a lifestyle change.
The doctor no longer takes Aetna HMO.

I want the world to know that Dr. Yasrebi is a wonderful and kind person. He shows he really cares about his patients. He treats you as if you are a member of his family. His staff are always there for you no matter what your question is. He explains everything to you not his staff. He wants you to be an informed patient. Dr. Yasrebi prepares you for the surgery by putting you on a diet of small portions. He as the best after care program I know of. He is at your disposal all the time no matter day or night. He is very hard on you but for your own saftey and health. He explains all 23 risks of the surgery to you and your family. This surgery is a family decision. Without the support of your loved ones you will not make it. I have a wonderful husband who goes to every visit. He wants to be involved. I am 3 mos post op and can call Dr. Yasrebi even now with questions. I do not know what I would have done with out him. I just want to say thank you for saving my life Dr. Yasrebi.

Dr. Yasrebi is a very tough surgeon (rigid) but I LOVE him!! I thank God that he was located in my home town. His hands performed a true miracle in my life. He is very selective, but he is the best because of it. His staff is cooperative and compassionate. His surgical competence DEFINITELY outweighs his bedside manner. He will tell it like it is!

I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and compassion.
I became more impressed with him during my pre op process.
The office staff was very helpful.
There wasn't anything that I did not like about him.
Future patients should know that he is the most helpful and caring doctors in this field.
He emphasized aftercare by giving his patients his home telephone number and calling during the post op time.
He does have a structured aftercare program.
He addressed the risks of surgery by detailing the risks involved. He never tried to downplay the risks.
I would give Dr. Yasrebi 110% as his rating.
Surgical competence and bedside manner were both fantastic!

I have not met him yet but I hear he is the most kind and caring surgeon around. He is very strict and that may turn people away but he has your best interests in mind. Before and aftercare programs are a must for him. He has actually refused to operate on people due to their lack of commitment to his programs because he knows this is not something you "try" just to see if you like it. This is a life-long committment and he will not proceed if there is any doubt in his mind that you wouldn't follow through with it. He is very blunt about the risks involved and tells you upfront without you having to ask. He has never lost a patient and he fully belives that his "rules" are the reason for that for that success. I think he falls into a "perfect 10" in all areas!!

I have finally met my surgeon at 2 of his monthly support group meetings. He is soooo funny but very serious as well. Speaking with him has definitely confimed my thoughts about him being such a great surgeon. I continue to meet many more of his patients and none have had a single bad word to say about him other than he is strict but I like that- it shows that he cares about the welfare of his patients.

Dr Yasrebi has been the best doctor I have ever been to. He has taken perfect care of me and always treats me with respect. I wish he had the time to be my PCP because I will never find another doc as good as he is. He is very strict but only because he is concerned and wants his patients to succeed. I see him almost monthly now even 7 months after surgery to get weighed in and see how I am doing. I am 14 pounds away from my goal weight and am still four and a half months before I am one year out. I have lost 116 pounds to date and couldn't be happier!

Dr. Yasrebi is the best. He has always been supportive and an excellent source of information. The office staff is well trained and very professional. In fact, I don't konw what I would have done if it weren't for there help when I got my first rejection letter.
I would tell future patients that you must stick with Dr. Yasrebi's program. I had one close call when I didn't loose weight and he almost postponed my surgery. I had to really work hard to keep my surgery date. Cheating is not worth the agony of thinking you might not have the surgery.
Dr. Yasrebi provides the best aftercare. He was ther to get me up the first time. He also came back that night to check on me and walk me around. He called me everynight after I went home for about a week. He made sure that I wouldn't be alone for the first three days after I was dicharged. My recovery went very well because of all the care he took.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. I wouldn't have had any other surgeon. On a scale of 1 - 10 he is a 15.

I knew after attending the first meeting I wouldn't want anyone else to do my surgery. I had sat through a similar meeting when I lived in Las Vegas and wasn't nearly as impressed as I was with Dr. Yasrebi. The audience not only filled with people getting info but almost a room full of his patients in various stages of 'recovery'. One of the most impressive things for me was a Dr. in the audience who had brought one of her patients. She herself had the surgery. She was educated at Harvard, Med school at Stamford and said, If you think you did research about this, think about the resources I had available. Listening to her story helped me a great deal. Plus, he has never ever lost a patient after 20 years of doing this. That was important to me. It's scary enough as it was.
Over time, my impression just got better and better and I felt lucky to have him as a Dr.
His office staff was great! Very helpful!
I can't think of anything I don't like about him.
Future patients should feel secure with him and listen to everything he has to say.
He takes aftercare VERY seriously. He feels very responsible for every patient he has. People are required to follow up with him for at least a year after the surgery. If you don't, they will call and try to getyou there. If you don't come, he will send an officer to bring you to his office for follow up.
Very structured aftercare. Very strict rules to follow!
Before surgery, we had a 2 hour meeting where we went though everything that could go wrong and why. He wants to make sure those things don't happen.
He is by far the best Dr. I've ever had. Every patient has his home phone number in case they need him. I have never ever in my life had a Dr.'s home phone number. Most of them you can't even get to talk to you on the phone if you call their office!!
Both is surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent!! Right after surgery, he was right there next to me walking with me in the halls of the hospital!!
