My first impression of him was wonderful. He never made me feel ashamed or stupid. I met in during a meeting I had gone to with my little sister. My impression did not change over time because he lived up to everything he told me. His office staff could not have been better trained or nicer. Sometimes I had a hard time understanind what he was saying to me due to his accent. But I just asked him to explain it again. The one thing any new paitient should know is that you will have to follow his rules at all times. He is very strict on what he tells you to do. He follows up with the patients often and gives you a list of do's and dont's. I was very pleased with his care overall. He came to the hospital to walk me several hours after surgery and called every day for a week to check up on me. He makes you come in for a meeting to go over all risk for the surgery and gives you a test on it to make sure you where listening. I think he was a great doctor. I have never heard anything bad about his manner or surgical competence. I would recommend him to anyone. He is strict and does not mind hurting your feelings if you are not following his rules.

(1)I was very comfortable with him. He was very strict and you would follow his instructions to the TEE.
(2)Stayed pretty much the same, he is very serious about his work. (3)Wonderful (4) He made you sue the inhaler breather machine and you had to get it up to 4000 before he would schedule surgery. (5) He is super, caring and very serious when it comes to your health. (6) Too the extreme - he calls every pateint at home the first 5 nights and checks on you and makes sure you are doing what you are suppose to. (7) Not really-he tells you the first 3-4 weeks what you should do then it's =lind of trial and error. (8) In great lengths, he has a meeting with you and the person that will be helping you, and goes over everything that can go wrong, and in BOLD RED letters at the bottom of the paper it states you over eat your pouch may burst and you could die... (9) You could have no better.. He has never been sued, never lost a patient and has benn doing thois over 20 years.
(10) Surgical competence - he does care if he hurts your feelings - he lets you know he's talking about your life and not just a simple procedure that any one could do blind folded and that he is just giving you a tool the work is up to you.

I knew Dr. Yasrebi's reputation when I chose him. I found him to be professional, personable and stern. I understand why. It's been said to me that he only takes low risk patients. That is simply not true. If you are high risk, he will make you low risk if possible and if you follow his instructions to the letter, you have it made. He required that I lose 50 pounds before surgery, and I did. I believe it has made all the difference in the world. My recovery so far has been remarkable. I found out that he changes gloves 3 times during surgery and cleans the body with an antibacterial solution 3 times during surgery. His wound infection is 0%. His staff is helpful and knowledgable. He has a good before care and after care program and I enjoy the support group meetings. I heard another surgeon speak about him, she said she could've have any surgeon from Harvard to Miami, and knowing the risks and reputations, she chose Dr. Yasrebi. She spoke for many minutes about his skill. She lost 200 pounds and looked great. I would rate Dr. Yasrebi the very best you could possibly choose. Just be ready to work hard at getting ready but it can be done.
I DO NOT have anything negative to say about Dr. Y and I've thought and thought about it. He should teach this to new surgeons!

My first impression of Dr.Yasrebi was that this man truly knows what he is doing. His technique and bedside manner is like no other. His office staff are a great help. I had the pleasure of dealing with Jill before she left. She is a true angel. My surgery was July 24, 2002. I weighed in at 246. 7 weeks later I now weigh 225. I am very pleased with how everything turned out. I have the supportive family and I am thankful for them. I am extremely thankful for Dr.Yasrebi. He is awsome!!! There is no other. He is however very strict. Please, do what he says. He is very professional and doesn't play games. I see DrYasrebi on a monthly bases now. I feel great. I'm steadly losing weight and inches. I strongly recommend Dr.Yasrebi. Two thumbs up !

I was very impressed with Dr Yasrebi the first time I went to his seminar at the hospital. He is a very dedicated doctor and seems to take great care in his patients. He is very strick with his patients. If you can't stick to his 800 calorie diet and loose the weight necessary for your surgery you are out the door. He has a line waiting to have surgery by him. He has been doing this surgery over 20 year and has NEVER lost a patient. That to me is VERY IMPRESSIVE.
His office staff in GREAT. I have no complaints so far.
His proceedure is done basicly on an out patient basis. Have surgery in morning and go home the next morning. In the mean time you have your own caregiver at the hospital 24 hrs, in that time your caregiver is walking you every 2 hours thro out the night. You go home the next morning. Dr. Yasrebi also comes by after the surgery several times to check on you and also walk you. After you go home he calls every 4 hours, and you continue to walk. This prevents bloodclots and phnomia (sp). Very strick on his after care from what I am told. My surgery is schedualed June 5, 02. I will be able to let you know more then.

He is very to the point. He has been very supportive.
The office staff is very helpful and took care of the insurance approvals within 2-3 days. What I like the best is the preparation and that he expects the patient to be a partner in achieving results.
He is serious about the patient following through with breathing, walking, etc.
I am glad that Dr. Yasrebi was my surgeon.

Dr Yasrebi is very honest. He is friendly and he makes you feel very comfortable. I love his staff. His assistant Jill is absolutely fabulous!!!! You could not be in better hands if you chose to have this surgery! He is amazing, he has never had a death and his success is attributed to the pre-weight loss that he requires. I can't wait for my surgery!!!

i met Dr Y at the support meeting in November, was very impressed with him. i called on the 26th for an appointment, and had gotten one for March. In February, i had called his office to see if there'd been any cancellations, there wasnt, but Jill asked me to fax her my insurance card anyway. i did so, then went out and ran errands, when i got back, there was a message from Jill telling me there indeed was a cancellation. i got moved up to 2/21/02. Dr Y is really cool and i love his sense of humor (it's dry, like mine). When i got there, i discovered i had already been approved for the surgery! The 800 calorie diet has not been too rough for me so far, becuase i had already been cutting down on calories in order to control glucose intolerance/diabetes. I met him at the February 2002 support group meeting at Memorial Hosptial in Jacksonville, Florida. I loved him right away. He appears to be extremely competent and has a wonderful sense of humor. His reputation is excellent, and the only negative thing I have ever heard about him is that he has very high standards and that he makes you lose 10% of your weight before he will do the surgery. After listening to him speak, this weight loss seems to me like a positive, as it is much better for you when you undergo surgery if you have recently lost some weight.

My first visit was on October 24, 2001. The doctor and his staff were very friendly and helpful. My appointment was 1 1/2 hours long he took a detailed medical history and did a physical exam. Jill his nurse was very helpful and will send in the necessary paperwork tomorrow and said we should know in less than a week.

Post Op- Dr. Yasrebi has been wonderful. He calls me every evening to check on how I am doing. I will see him one week post op. I have NEVER had a doctor call and check on how I am doing am making sure that all of his orders are being followed.
