Dr. Oh is a very quiet spoken man. He is very knowlegable of his craft and explains well what to expect to happen. I have seen him a few times and he seems to be very consitant. He has a great sense of humor and it also appears he cares very much about the outcome of his patients. He still have a pretty thick accent however it is not to hard to understand him. He answers questions directly and does not beat around the bush. He does have an aftercare program but he doenst really educate you on it till your post op. He explains the risks of the procedure first and formost at the siminar that you are required to go through. He also goes over what he expects you to do for aftercare. As far as surgical competence and bed side manner, I have only had my EGD done by him and he did a great job with that. He also explained what he found thoroughly afterwards.
So far he has exceeded my expectations

Dr. Oh is technically a very proficient surgeon, and he is pleasant. He is not a charming, great bedside manner-type doc, but he's nice, and he's VERY good.
Very good on aftercare, labs.
Great office staff, patient advocate, nutrition class. Dr. Oh emphasizes vitamin and protein supplementation for patients.

The staff at Dr Oh's office, they are very nice and helpful. Really make you feel comfortable. Especially Sheri and Kristiina. Dr Oh is blunt and to the point, but you sort of need that. My first visit I was scared and not sure what to think. Surgical competense is more important then bedside manner.

Dr. Oh is an incredible doctor, and gifted surgeon. He is very serious about the care he gives his patients. I think at times his seriousness can be mistaken for poor bedside manner, but that's not how it is. Yes, he's frank and to the point. I was a little taken back at first by that, but have come to appreciate it. Talk to him and get to know him, and you'll find he's got a good sense of humor as well.
From what I have seen, aftercare is extremely important to him, and his staff. He has a regimen which must be followed. He keeps track of you and your labwork, so you need to keep up on the protein and vitamins.
I can't do justice in describing how awesome his staff is. They are the greatest. I don't know how they do it. Day in and day out, with an extensive workload, they are some of the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever dealt with. I can't thank them enough.

I have not met Dr. OH yet. I have read peers profiles and so far have liked what I've read about him. He is also on my insurance company's list of preferred providers. That should be a help in getting insurance approval. I called his office and they are sending me information. Found receptionist to be informative and made me fill glad I called. She was a WLS patient her self. Receptionist told me they would handle everything, including getting approval from my insurance provider. I will let you know how that went. I will update this after I have my appointment.

Had my appointment with Dr. OH. It went real well. He explained every thing in detail. I feel confident that is is a #1 surgeon. Have talked to a lot of his patients, and all seem to like him. I even found that his bed side manner was great. Sherri and Kathi work in the office there and are quite friendly and very help full. Sherri is a WLS patient her self and you would never believe she was ever over weight. I will up date later.

Every time I meet Dr. Oh, I like him more. He is very busy and very popular in the WLS area, and I do believe that is because he is a good surgeon and a lot of people are recommending him. Even though he is busy he has taken the time to explain every thing. I tried to take a photo of him and found he was camera shy. I took photos of Kathi and Sherri and am going to put there photos on my profile. Sherri again was very helpful. So is Kathi, but Sherri has had WLS, and so she is empathetic for those of us that are going to have WLS. I would recommend Dr. Oh and his staff to any one thinking of having WLS.

03/19/2003 One year has gone by since my RNY. I still feel the same about Dr. Oh and staff. They are the best. No matter were I lived in the world I would come here to have Dr. Oh perform the surgery. He will be giving me my Panniculectomy, abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair tomorrow. 03/20/2003. I will let you know how he did on this later.

First impression was that he was hurried and not totally concerned about my personal situation.
His office staff is very helpful and his office manager Cheri is great and seems to remember each patient by name and circumstance.
Aftercare was emphasized with extreme importance.
He is not particularly social.
I'm confident he is competant. Bedside manner is lacking.

Dr.OH is a very sweet guy, He takes his job very seriously and he is good at what he does, My life was and is in his hands and I couldn't ask for a better Doctor. His staff is so polite...HI Sherri!!!!!
When you go in for the first time to meet Dr.Oh be prepared he isnt all warm and fuzzy feeling he is a straight to the point kind of guy, He just wants to make sure you know what you are getting in to. That the surgery is not a temp thing it is a life time commitment and your life will change a-lot.

My first impression of Dr. Oh was pretty good. I first met him at his weekly seminar. I immediately respected him more than the 2 other surgeons I had talked to because his presentation on WLS was more to my liking. He went in depth about the functions of stomach and digestive system and explained all the reasons for his strict aftercare program. I liked the literal approached he used; no fluff or "marketing" type of presentation. In subsequent appointments, I got to know him a little better. I have so much confidence in Dr. Oh now. He even went the extra mile for me and talked to insurance on my behalf when I was initially denied converage for the surgery. Dr. Oh may not be "slick" or warm and fuzzy, but he knows what he's doing and seriously cares about the plight of morbidly obese people.

I met him at his group session. He seemed to be a pleasant man with a dry sense of humour.
He gave an informative talk about the available procedures and was relaxed.
I felt comfortable with him.
I have another appointment with him, this one will be a ONE on ONE and will report back.
My second visit with Dr Oh only reconfirmed what I had initially thought.
Hes a personable man with a no nonsense business air. He treated me like a person and not someone who was a 'number'.
When I saw Dr Oh before my EGD he seemed kind in addition to making eye contact but really pleased me is that afterwards he came to the recovery area and smiled and told me that my surgery was a go.

I cannot sing the praises enough for this man. He is a competent surgeon that actually cares for his patients and you see this with every follow-up visit. I would recommend him without question.
