I choose DR OH of FederalWay..first time meeting with him is at his Orientation me and my husband attended. I really liked the way he taught us...he made a few jokes..seemed like it got the class a bit more comfortable with him..and then was serious about each of the surgeries..there were two patient advocates there that both had went through the surgery themselves..so it was nice to see that. We all got a binder with each section on steps closer to surgery. I believe I have choosen an excellent DR. The staff at his office is incrediable..Casey has helped me through out the year getting this approved and I was approved..she had made me feel at ease and I told myself that if she can get me approved I would send her roses..well that day..of approval. I kept my word and sent her 6 red roses...I never felt pushed aside anytime I called the office.

Waiting room might be small-
but its WORTH waiting in the hall! :)

Tonight me and my dh went and to a seminar there Dr.Oh talked to us about the surgery ,He seemed very nice and most important he knoes his stuff I was very impressed with him and his staff.Dr.Oh has a very strict aftercare program that he expects you to follow ,his office offers all the info and support you need .

My first impression of Dr. Oh, which was in an orientation, was that he was extremely knowledgeable about the subject, which you would hope for, and that he has a dry sense of humor, which I liked.
Dr. Oh has seemed pretty much the same the entire time. I would say that if you are looking for someone to hold your hand and make you feel like a million bucks, that is not Dr. Oh. I wouldn't say that bedside manner is his strong point, but if you understand his sense of humor, you can tell that he does care and he is on the same level with you and wants you to do better.
Dr. Oh really emphasizes aftercare and that you follow what he tells you to do. He can be a little terse if he has told you to do something and you haven't, but it is because he knows what works.
Dr. Oh was very clear about the risks of surgery. I had no questions going in of what I was in for.
I would say that so far, two weeks after my surgery, both Dr. Oh and the staff at his office have been wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend him. Everyone at his office has been very helpful and supportive and I feel like the quality of care and after-care I have received is top-notch.

Dr. Oh is a very nice person. He was very friendly and informative. It was an enjoyable three hours even though I have gone through this with other doctors. It was nice to get to know him and his staff.
The office gals that were in the office when I went to drop off my file were very helpful and friendly as well. They really try to help you out with things and their faxs are alphabetized as soon as they come off the machine. They were much more organized then Dr. Rifenbery's staff and much more friendly.

Dr Oh has been great. While in the hospital I had some concerns that he addressed emediatly with the staff. His after care is phenominal he is very concerned for patients wellbeing and follows through very closely.
I can say that I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr Oh and I believe that both his competence and bedside manner are great.

I love Dr. Oh. He's so nice and has such a great sense of humor. His informational seminar was very helpful and his staff is great. Aftercare is stressed and I really appreciate that. The whole office is interested in your success. He is the best... I would highly recommend Dr. Oh and his wonderful staff. The only negative aspect of Dr. Oh's office is his waiting room is too small. Both times I ended up waiting in the hall. But I would have stood on my head to see Dr. Oh.

I decided on Dr. Oh after reading so many praises of his work and character. He is very professional and a no-nonsense doctor. I was quite impressed the first time I met him at his orientation. He was to the point and very thorough in explaining the how's and why's of gastric bypass surgery. He has a dry sense of humor that I quite enjoy. I understand that he is very strict on his aftercare and will follow-up with you for the rest of your life. I feel totally as ease having him as my surgeon and very fortunate to have found him. He is totally worth the long drive through the horrible Seattle traffic to get to his office and I would recommend him to anyone contemplating WLS surgery. I also have to say I am completely impressed by his staff. They have a friendly, professional demeanor and wasted no time in getting my paperwork processed. A few are even successful WLS patients of his.
I am still early in my process so, I can't honestly say I have anything negative to say.
I hope that when its time to have my WLS, I have the same experiences with the hospital staff.
Finding a surgeon is quite a personal choice and experience. I only speak from my own and urge anyone contemplating having WLS to carefully research all aspects of the process both before and after surgery. Its a choice that must last a lifetime.

Dr. Oh is very thorough. He is not very personable but knows his job very well. He is very good. He addresses the risks and is firm that this is a life change. I am due to have the surgery in less than 2 weeks and am nervous and excited as it approaches. He has been doing every test and addressing my personal health isssues and I am very comfortable with Dr Oh and I highly recommend him.
