I found that Good Sam was excellent. The nurses were well versed in how to handle a WLS patient. They were very attentive. It helps to have a positive attitude and not complain about getting up to walk.

They did a good job with obese patients, but I had to wait in the recovery room for several hours for a room to open and a new (larger) bed. Aside from this, I had a pretty good experience.

I felt I was very well taken care of, of course we always get a bad room mate, I've decided thats a given...The nurses are required to take a 3 day class provided by Dr. Newhoff and Dr. Simon before they can treat their patience. I had a huge comfort knowing that.

I really have nothing but wonderful things to say about this hospital and it's staff. The only thing that could use improvement, and I'm sure others who have stayed there will agree, was the horrendous parking. My poor parents had to walk an incredible distance to visit me everyday and my Father hurt even hurt his knee while trying to wave down a hospital shuttle. So, just be warned that the parking is a bit difficult, they do offer valet parking for patients and visitors, but you need to get your keys by 7pm and visiting hours are over at 9pm. However, my overall impression of the hospital is still wonderful! Everyone on staff was very friendly and outgoing and as I said before very non-judgemental. They have oversized gowns and a staff that is well versed in the care of gastric bypass patients! I was on floor 6 Pod A and they were the best! I have to mention Jackie who was my day nurse, talk about a kind, caring, funny and very knowledgible nurse. I couldnt have received better care at any hospital! Do make it a point not to be a huge hindrance, get up and walk, and your stay Im sure will be just as wonderful! Best of luck!!

Oh my goodness! Except for one nurse and one nurses aid, they were all so bad. What happened to patient care? What happened to taking time with patients? What happened to changeing sheets? What happened to changing wet sweat soaked gowns? What happened to helping people out of bed or teaching them how to get out without hurting themselves? What happened to professionalism?

The nurse that discharged me at a whole Twix candy bar in front in my while reading my discharge instructions.

Nursing care was spotty at best. My night nurse Chris and the day nurse that I had on my last day (can't remeber her name) were good. I never saw my day nurse on Wednesday and Thursday. If it hadn't been for my wife I would have never walked.

The staff was very supportive of my surgery. No one made me feel like I could have handled my weight situation in another manner. The nursing staff and floor custodial staff were very friendly.

I was VERY disappointed. I'm glad nothing bad happened.
