Hospital of Saint Raphael (COE) Hospital

The staff during the day was excellent, however, the late night staff was horrible. They were not as educated and were not as friendly. After my surgery, there were no more rooms available, so I had to wait about 10 hours after surgery for a room to be available!!!! Then when I got my room, it was so small it was pathetic. The call button was also routinely ignored, even though I only used it a couple times a day. The day staff was excellent and they were strict about getting me up and moving around which is what I needed. They were very sensitive also. Decent hospital, staff (during the day only) were excellent!!

The staff on third shift were not the easy people to get along with. I understood they were short handed but they shouldnt take it out on the patient. Its like any other hospital some of the staff were wonderful and some you didnt dare ask for a glass of water. I will say this if your not the type of person to take care of yourself ie..get up and walk, drink your water, brush your teeth, etc...you are in trouble in this hospital. I found once I was out of ICU I was on my own except for the medicine. Not once did they come in and check to see if I was drinking what I was suppose to. And I will never understand why they have to wake you up for your vitals wait 15 min I'm sure the patient will be up.
And one more thing they really need to be more aware of the visitors. A lady down the hall had so much company at one point they were standing in the hallway. This is a hospital not a party some of us need our rest. I felt bad for her roomate who needed to rest.
