That steering wheel... and getting past the hump

Dec 02, 2012

I met a couple of friends this morning and did a 3 mile walk around the lake. I hadn't done that in FOREVER and it was harder than it was the last time I did it, but easier than it would have been 198 pounds ago, for sure. I'm really hoping that the fact that I showed up and did it means I'm moving past this weird "I'm not going to exercise" blip. I'm thinking I might actually go to the gym this week. The walk did remind me that my knees are still so jacked up. I'm going to have to visit an orthopedist or whoever you see about that stuff. Sigh.

I'm doing the Color Me Rad 5k with friends next weekend, we're walking it. Slowly. My shoes, I think, are too big again. I need to get measured and fitted correctly. I have these weird hammer toes and I could feel them splitting, usually means the shoe was too wide. Sigh. I've lost so many shoe sizes. It's so bizarre.

ANYWAY... on the way back, in the car... I realized how different it felt to drive. One of those "oh yeah" moments, I guess. So when I got home, I pushed the seat all the way back and took a photo. My stomach used to graze the wheel, but what struck me is that you can now see seat on either side of my legs/hips and in between. Holy wow.

Scale still taunting me at 177 (198 pounds lost). I absolutely know it's normal and this is my usual pattern, but man... come on! LOL! I wanna scream "goal" already.   I'm also trying to get up the courage to make that appointment with the plastic surgeon. I need to just do it. I don't know why I'm so reluctant, but I've been in contact with one's office via email and they take my insurance (which sounds like hit and miss if they'll cover it, I didn't exactly get a great answer from the lady I called it was more of a "maybe") so we'll see. I need to start thinking about it though. It's reaching ridiculous proportions with the skin and sagging.
