Cottage Cheese Orange Creamsicle Protein Bowl

Cottage Cheese Orange Creamsicle Protein Bowl

With sugar free orange Jello, cottage cheese, and yogurt, this Cottage Cheese Orange Creamsicle Protein Bowl is a healthy, high protein, low fat, gluten- free afternoon treat.

I’m kind of on a mini cottage cheese kick!

I first started loving cottage cheese during my Body For Life days. For the perfect protein plus carb combo, which is what the program is all about, Bill Phillips would have you mix yogurt with some cottage cheese and have it for a snack.

I fell in love! And I even enjoy the texture of cottage cheese.

However, for this treat, I’m calling Orange Creamsicle Cottage Cheese Jello protein bowl, I wanted to blend it and make it smooth!

So, I mixed up this sweet bowl by blending the cottage cheese with yogurt and adding some sugar free orange flavored jello mix!

YUM!! I need some graham crackers to dip in it, but all I had was these DELICIOUS mini stroop waffles. But also, I’m totally content eating it with a spoon!

The ingredients in the protein cottage cheese orange creamsicle bowl:

  • Fat free cottage cheese. The fat free cottage cheese I’ve been getting is only 10 calories less than the lowfat cottage cheese. It’s also harder to find. Not every store carries it. So, you can certainly use low fat cottage cheese, but if you want to save a few calories, go for the fat free version.
  • Non fat plain Greek yogurt. I use this a lot, and it’s what I had in my fridge. But, you could also use vanilla Greek yogurt. If I had the vanilla, I would skip the stevia.
  • Sugar free Orange jello mix. Don’t over use this! I only used a teaspoon. The first time I tried this, I used a tablespoon, and it was too much. The orange tasted more like orange candy, and not smooth and vanilla-like a creamsicle.
  • A pinch of powdered stevia. I have little tiny packets of stevia that I like to add to oatmeal. (you can see it here). It’s lasted me a long time, and I like having it for little treats like this cottage cheese bowl.
  • Low fat milk, just to get the mix to blend in a blender. I doubled the recipe just to make it easier to blend in a small blender to get it smooth. It would not blend with half a recipe, there just wasn’t enough food to push around the blades.
