Meet Dietitian Mary Wight

Mary Wight, RD, is a registered dietitian working with patients in the field of weight management at Olde Del Mar Surgical and the XiMED Center for Surgical and Medical Weight Management. She completed her degree in Nutrition Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also holds a degree in Communication from Arizona State University.

Mary WrightShe has experience working with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with multiple disease states (Diabetes, Heart Disease, Kidney Disease), as well as eating disorders and behavioral health. She has been a featured guest on local radio discussing post bariatric success as well as speaking engagements addressing healthy lifestyles as it affects our nation’s youth. She enjoys motivating people to make lasting lifestyle changes by providing medically and scientifically driven nutrition knowledge.

Her empathy and understanding to the challenges of weight management help put her patients at ease during this important journey to better health.

Breakout Session: “I have to take WHAT…for the REST OF MY LIFE” - Understanding vitamin and mineral deficiencies and finding options available for supplementation.

In this session, Mary Wight, R.D.  will review with you the current recommendations for vitamin and mineral supplementation of the joint statement from ASMBS, TOS and AACE.  She’ll also help you learn to identify deficiencies and how they can affect you as a post bariatric patient.  Mary will address some of the different options available for supplementation and ways to prevent deficiencies, as well as the importance of consistency and continued work with your health care team.
