Topic: RE: how much did you lose on your pre op diet
I lost one pound after 2 weeks of optifast. I only cheated a couple of times. My doc said as long as i didnt gain any it was ok. When i had my first weight in one week after surgery i had lost 17 lbs. SO i guess its okay as long as you dont gain any.

Good for you !!  That's is so good - wow 24 pounds.

Go to the grocery store and carry around 5 one gallon milk containers. That's almost what you have lost.

I get the flavored powders and drink them.  My favorite is 1/2 scoop chocolate, 1/2 scoop vanilla/cinnamon (I think the brand is IDS).  Mix it up with about 3 oz water, then put in a large coffee mug.  Fill the rest up with heated water.  Yummy and very satisfying.

I have not tried protein in food yet.. think I'll skip that, unless others come up with brilliant ideas !

Topic: RE: What was your "rock bottom" to make you want surgery???
My breaking point was two birthdays... my 49th and my daughters 29th...  I realized that I had been fighting this yo you dieting battle for 30 years as an adult, since before my daughter was born.  I thought "doing it the same way and expecting different results is idiotic !! Do something different"

So, I talked to my husband and he said he would go to one of the WLS seminars with me. We did a few weeks later and it started my journey, which brings me to 1 week post op.

I'll turn 50 in September and WILL NOT be in the same place as last year.  No way, no how...

Glad to hear you are doing so well!!

I am with you I hate all the different scales.  I am ONLY going to weigh (from now on) at my doctors office.  I will not let the scale dictate how I am doing.  I got rid of the scale in my house...i refuse to be a slave to the scale anymore and will just follow my doctors orders to a "T"  Even when i know i'm doing everything right if im up a pound or down a pound it's never good enough, I let the scale dictate how I feel NO MORE  ....sorry for rambling on...but i'm just irritated that i lost 8lbs with this pre-op diet lol.

Surgery is on Thursday YAY!

YOU Can do this!!!
