Topic: Another Appt Today
Going today for my 5th appt to provider's office and I am not yet 5 weeks out.  I am having really bad spasm like pain in my pouch area and up my esophogus that is almost unbearable.  It doesn't get better with food or drinks but does hurt more even with water.  Been taking all my meds and vitamins like a good patient.  hmmmmm, wonder what now.  They think I might have ulcers so I have been taking meds for that but I know they take a while to clear up.  Wonder if they got inflamed from something I ate yesterday since I had chili for the first time since surgery.

Topic: RE: What's your favorite post op food?
i wish i had a favorite food.  nothing sounds good and i rarely have the same thing more than 1 day in a row.  i have found that toast helps to sooth my stomach as do lf wheat thins.  eggs always sounds like a good idea but dont sit well.  hoping for better outcomes soon!  but I enjoy reading your posts so i can dream about food!

i have heard that beef jerky is a common treat after surgery with high protein but i am afraid to try it this soon out.  maybe i should try some!

At (about) 2 months out what do you normally eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? I have a hard time with variety, and have a low tolerance for eating the same foods over and over again!

I'm starting to get tired of the same things. I stay away from carbs/starchy foods. I love me some seafood. Right now my fav is crab meat with mayo and cheese heated in the microwave.

Topic: RE: 6 Weeks Out How much are you eating?
I was told my my NUT and Doc that I needed to be at 1000 calories a day, I was at about 600-800 a day and I was not loosing anything, once I added in an additional snack the scale started moving again! Maybe try adding a snack or 2 in just to bump up your calorie intake and kick you matabolism back in gear. Good Luck!!

Topic: RE: QUESTION
I was told it depends on what you eat. My soup is basically broth with egg. I can eat much more of that because the liquid goes right through your stomach. I can't eat more than a few bites a meat because I feel like I'm stuffed.

The easiest way to stretch your pouch is carbonated drinks. Try eating slower? I know it's a pain but it does take 30min for the full feeling to hit your brain. Another thing that gives you a more satisfied feeling is protein, Make sure you are getting enough and it's the first you eat. I can definitely chow down on watermelon so I only have a little after one of my protein drinks.

Hope that helps. Everyone is so different. The diets each doctor has us on is so very different also.
