QOTD- I know that a lot of people will be hurt by this heartless shutdown. I know that the food pantry's are stretched pretty thin before this. I'm so angry with those people that don't think this is a crisis. Making people work without pay and they just don't seem to give a **** how many people they hurt.

Cool and foggy this morning, it's only supposed to get up to 58 today. I guess it really is getting to be fall.

My roommate has a job, he starts next Tuesday. Hopefully he will be happy and this one will last for a long time.

I see the ortho today and have PT tomorrow. I'm hoping it won't hurt too bad.

Not much else going on, the same old things.

Have a great day everyone!

Has anyone heard from QJB or Grim? I've missed them.

Glad things ent well with the BBQ! I am slightly jealous...ok a lot.

Well the doctor says I have rheumatoid arthritis and could still have lupus. He is sending me to a rheumatologist. Looking forward to getting this all going so hopefully there is something that will help eventually. It may take a while..long long while to get an appointment.

today we're picking up a heater for an elderly cousin. She broke her shoulder 4 weeks ago and doesn't drive anymore anyway. She gave us the mola yesterday. Her house is huge and an old boarding house. So she can't afford to heat the whole house, only the rooms she lives in on the lower floor.

we might do a few other things but I don't know. I'd like a relaxing day if possible.

QOTD: since I am on disability I get snap benefits here in Texas. After paying my bills and such I have 300 left for a whole month so I count on the stuff. BUT not nearly as much as a lot of folks. I won't starve. It is a situation that makes me too angry to put into words.

B: eggs, sausage cheese and coffee

L: ????

D: fish and shrimp spring rolls

Happy Hump Day Gang!! The BBQ was a success yesterday. The food was really good especially the steak tips. Tomorrow we have the clambake that everyone is looking forward to. They started the demo on the closets. The guys are taking the wall out that is in between them and making it one big closet for storage. It is much needed. I'll have to do a Home Depot run with one of the guys to get some supplies.

I have today and tomorrow to work and then Friday off. I'm really looking forward to it as I have a whole agenda planned besides going to the underground prison.

QOTD: What would you do to help those who are going to be affected by the potential non distribution of SNAP benefits? While yes there may be some people who abuse the system and lie about their situation. I know that there are many people in the US *****ly on them to feed themselves and their families. Between the elderly, the disabled, and families who parents do work, but still qualify because they just don't make enough money. I plan on asking my Plant Manager if we can purchase a few extra turkeys along with sides to hand out to a few families for Thanksgiving.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: leftovers from yesterday since I ordered a ton of food

D: Ham and gravy

Hitting the Y and then sorting out peppers that I had to pick out of the garden.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good mornin folks.

Yesterday's doctors appointment went well. He listened. He ordered the test. Unfortunately I do have some inflammatory disease but not sure which one. I should hear from the office today or this week. It also shows I likely have a uti. Which I suspected it was starting. My iron is good but other things show anemia. That could be part of lupus or RA. While I am relieved to know I'm not crazy and something is wrong it is still sobering. So likely adding another doctor to the list...at least. Information is power they say,

Today it's cold and very windy. We're supposed to have our first freeze tonight and hard freeze tomorrow night. My body doth protest,

QOTD: BBQ from a place here. I love good BBQ and this place killed it. That luau sounds so decadent! Yum!

B: eggs, cheese, sausage and coffee

L: burrito

D: ???? Thinking I might make a tortilla soup mix I have,

Good Tuesday Morning Menuer's. I am waiting for the catering company to show up for our first Employee Appreciation Day. I'm getting the hoodies together for each employee along with some sort of electronic charger that our corporate office sent each facility. It should be a fun day.

I've been working on cleaning out the basement so I can setup a grow tent that we are turning into a meat cooler for hanging different types of Italian meats like Capicola, Prosciutto, Soupy, and Pancetta. I've always wanted to make them and now I have the space and items needed to make the "cooler".

QOTD: What's the best catered food that you've had? We get a lot of catering at work for different events and I think the best one we've had was the Hawaiian Luau last year. They came on site and cooked a whole pig with all the fixing's. Everyone loved it.

B: just a coffee because there will be a ton of food for lunch

L: catered BBQ

D: probably nothing because of lunch LOL

Water aerobics at the Y.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hoping it went well with your PCP. They definitely should listen when a patient has a family history issue that should be monitored.

The bracelet (or choker?) is beautiful. You are so talented and patient to attach all those tiny pieces into a work of art.

Yikes, that does not sound like an appealing situation. Eek, whenever it happens I hope it goes well.

Congrats on the short week. I can't believe October is almost over already. This month has blitzed past. It is mostly sunny and beautiful (but cold!) here and fortunately the trees still have most of their colored leaves despite the rain storms we've had the last few days. I took some boneless, skinless Frankenbreasts out of the freezer and poached them. I don't know how people do it and make it come out juicy and tender. Mine are always dry and tough despite timing the cooking and the rest. Are they just bred to be tough along with absurdly large these days?

QOTD: I usually enter raffles when there are quilts. In all my years I've never won a single raffle but when you know it is for a good cause you do get that warm feeling of helping out a little.

B: fake coffee (Pero) w/ff half and half followed by a homemade Starbucks egg bite.

L: 3 oz chicken breast, 1 tsp Better-Than Bouillon. and one American cheese slice in a mug with boiling water. The stats are pretty good and the liquid helps get the chicken down the pouch. Learned the American cheese trick from Korean ramyun hacks online. It makes the soup look creamy and taste slightly richer without many calories.

Hubby got my laptop repaired last week but now I'm using a cooling fan under it and it is making me reach upwards to type, my neck muscles do not approve of this change. Working on sewing is a piece of cake compared to this.

Time to get an Elsa cape sewn for my youngest granddaughter for Christmas. There is about 1/3 yd each of the icy blue and pale lilac color satin that I've got to figure out how to use up. Too small for any kind of dress and too much for maybe a drawstring play purse. Got any brilliant suggestions?

Have a great, short, week!
