I tried. I really tried.

I started my liquid diet on Tuesday. I made it through Saturday night. I have tried numerous protein shakes, (Premiere, SlimFast High Protein, Syntrax Nectar Roadside Lemonade, EAS AdvantEdge, pea protein vanilla) and I'm getting nauseous on all of them. Not just a little bit of nausea, but throw up any minute nauseous. On two I did throw up.

After trying to stomach SOMETHING on Sunday, and being unable to, I finally broke down and got some food. It even tasted awful, and I remained nauseous until I got the remnants of pea protein powder out of my system.

I feel like such a failure. I'm scheduled to see my surgeon this Wednesday.

I find ready-made protein shakes to be vile. What are you mixing the powders you've tried with?

Have you tried broth? How about Fairlife milk?

The powders I have tried (Syntrax and pea protein) I have mixed with water. I am on a clear liquid 14 day diet so unfortunately that limits me. I can have Powerade and haven't tried that yet.

Aaah, clear liquid diet is a different story - that might have been good to mention in your post! Most of us are allowed to do protein shakes.

Have you tried broths? That might help. Some people like Isopure too.

Sorry about that. Yes, we have a list of approved drinks and Premiere and other ready to drink drinks are listed, along with coffee and tea in very small amounts.

I'd definitely ask for clarification as the list you've been given doesn't seem to fall into the "clear" liquids category. Try to get specifics of what they require - a certain calorie to protein ratio, perhaps? Or a certain amount of carbs not to go over?

Premier Protein is not considered a clear liquid. Did your surgeon specifically recommend/allow it?
