How did you choose your user name?

Quick question. How did you choose your user name here on OH?

I pretty much try to avoid having to pick one. Obviously I'm not very creative (Amy R.!). But I want to join a new-to-me forum and that group requires a pseudonym or pen name. If you have one, how did you come up with it?

Such a stupid question I know, but I need help! Thoughts? Anybody?

Ha! I had always figured yours was a reference to Duff Beer and the Simpsons!

My enduring love for, admiration of, and devotion to the Oxford comma. Also, I think it is kind of fun to have an oddball name.

Gwen is a childhood nickname that my best friend's dad gave me. I called on the phone once and he answered. He said, "Is this [real name]?" And I replied, snarkily, "No, it's her evil twin." And, without missing a beat, he called to my friend, "Hey! Gwendolyn is on the phone for you!"

And.. it sort of stuck. So I've used it as my online handle for forever.

Citizen Kim
on 3/1/18 6:38 am - Castle Rock, CO

My original name was Britkim, because I'm British and my name is Kim - who knew I could be so innovative? My account was deleted for about 18 months - some older members may remember the mass deletions and the bolthole Quix.

Opened a new account as Singirl, because I was at that time living in Singapore, later changed to SinKim as OH became friendlier and less doxxy.

Became Citizen Kim in 2014, when I became a citizen of the USA!

Proud Feminist, Atheist, LGBT friend, and Democratic Socialist

I've wondered about that a couple of times, because I thought I had remembered you as being SinKim. Thanks for the confirmation, lol. One less thought that needs to be stored in my brain.....
