You can google those terms and get clarification. But basically they are different procedures that surgeons have developed to do DS.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
SO I've been gone from the WLS world for quite a few years, due to skeletal issues requiring surgery...
I come back and notice all these new acronyms...SADI/SIPS(can't recall the other 2-3 I've seen)
What are these, new types of the D/S?
I want the standard(Gold Standard) and a surgeon that really knows their stuff...still looking like it will be California at the rate things here in Washington State are going...
Any help understanding these new things would be appreciated
Cheers,
Rhainy
You can order the Devrom on Amazon. You can also get charcoal pads that go in your underwear and absorb odors. I used Devrom for a while until I figured out the sugar alcohols were causing my gas.

Is Devrom a pill and where can I get it? My husband would love it if I got some of that stuff!! I have a smaller pouch and I thought they re-routed my intestines and cut some off. But, don't quote me on that it's been so long ago I can hardly remember the specifics. Thanks for the advice!
Sugar, that's my favorite thing in the world. But, I guess that answers my question. Thank you!
Thank's for the advice I will definitely give it a try!
I've never heard of a gastric bypass with DS. Does that mean you have a pouch and your duodenum is bypassed?
Have you looked at what you're eating. The major culprit for gas and bloating is sugar (carbs). How's your carb intake? For odor, you can try Devrom (it's an internal deoderant - doesn't do anything for gas, just odor).

Welcome back Sandra. I had my DS in 2003 and have been doing fine. I deal with calcium deficiency (I have osteoporosis) and occasional iron deficiency anemia (controlled with infusions), but otherwise I'm healthy (according to my doctors), I've maintained my weight loss, and enjoy each day as it comes.

My surgery was years ago. My A1c is usually 3.9 to 4.2. No idea if it is normal. But I never have symptoms.
