This week has some unusual things going on, so we'll see what happens.

I went to parkrun all by myself on Saturday, which is a big deal for me since I normally go with Lance and he's the primary motivator. I was looking at my parkrun stats afterward and, of the seven times I've done it, I've achieved a personal best for the course on six of the runs. It's really awesome to see progress like that. I'm a slow but determined runner so I don't always feel like I'm improving.

Monday - intermediate mat pilates class
Tuesday - nothing due to being an election judge!! (I assume I'll walk and stand a lot and that my hip flexors will hate me on Wednesday morning.)
Wednesday - mat pilates class
Thursday - running, yoga stretching
Friday - MFR class
Saturday - hopefully some ping pong with my mom before heading back home. I'm driving up on Friday after MFR class to interview someone who works at her CCRC about HIPAA compliance.
Sunday - running, yoga stretching

I'm confused since 12 minutes prior to this post you made one asking how soon you could exercise because you're restless.

Even at 2 weeks post-op, you should be walking as much as you can. Walking will help with your energy levels. Are you getting at least 64 ounces of liquids and 80 grams of protein?

Lots of people still need to take naps for a month or so after surgery - it's major surgery combined with major lifestyle change. Go easy on yourself to an extent, but get out there and walk.

Very proud of myself for that! Now I'm finished with races (aside from my weekly 5k race****il my half marathon in March. Woo!

Monday - intermediate mat pilates class
Tuesday - nothing due to endoscopy
Wednesday - mat pilates class
Thursday - running, yoga stretching

I ended up not running TH morning, and it's a good thing I didn't, since that night our development had some flash flooding, my partner got stuck in it, and I had to walk 2 miles roundtrip to rescue him, some of whi*****luded water up to my waist. Fun times!

But.. it was also sort of awesome since I felt completely strong and able :)

(Partner is fine... car? Car is probably totaled. We'll find out on Monday.)

I had a good resting week last week after my half marathon and now it's time to get back to it. I've got a 5k on the 20th and a 10k on the 28th to prepare for!

Monday - intermediate pilates mat class (woah, that's a great and challenging class!)

Tuesday - nothing formal planned, since I'm spending the day in the library at my partner's workplace as I came into work with him to make getting to an evening concert easier. I imagine I'll do a lot of walking.

Wednesday - pilates class. I want to get back to my yoga class that follows the pilates class, but I don't think this is the week for that to happen due to the assignments I have due on Sunday.

Thursday - running!! yoga stretching

Friday - my zenga class has been renamed to reflect what it actually is, so now it's MFR class.

Saturday - parkrun (free worldwide weekly timed 5k)

Sunday - yoga at home

Last week was basically a wash due to travel and general weirdness. And, in bad news, I found out that my Friday Pilates class won't be starting up this week as scheduled (it's a credit class, so only runs during the Fall and Spring terms). But, in good news, I was looking at other Pilates options and asked my instructor if she thought the intermediate Pilates class she teaches on Mondays would be appropriate for me and she said yes! So that's sort of super exciting. It means I've leveled up my Pilates skill :D

Because of last week's wonkiness, though, here's this week's schedule. Today's run was supposed to happen last Thursday so I'm glad I was able to get it in before starting to taper for my half marathon!

Stretching is key. Taking a day off between workouts to allow major muscle groups to recover is important.

If you're doing legs with your trainer and then a leg-intensive method of cardio the following day, chances are your leg muscles might not be getting enough recovery time. I.e., avoid overtraining.

Hi exercisers!

Sorry that you bonked yourself while trying to crow! That's one of my goals for this year, but I still haven't started working on it aside from pull ups to build arm strength!

My exercise is a bit weird this week since I'm heading off for a long weekend vacation stupidly early on Thursday, which is normally a running day. So I switched my running days to Monday and Wednesday, which then throws off my fitness class schedule and then I felt like I was coming down with something Sunday night so I skipped running on Monday because I need to get my long run in on Wednesday AND feel well for vacation and ARGH!! :D Crazy times.

Monday - nothing (skipped planned run)

Tuesday - yoga class if I can spare the time away from school work

Wednesday - running (9 miles!), yoga

Thursday - nothing formal, walking around airports and the town I'm visiting

Friday - running (3 miles), yoga

Saturday - nothing formal, but we're probably going to some national forest/park so there will be walking/hiking

Sunday - nothing formal, but we're canoeing or kayaking!

And next Monday - nothing formal, walking around airports on the way back home. I'll probably do some yoga in the morning so that my body doesn't hate me.
