Honestly, I'd just eat LCHF and write down literally everything. If you're eating under 1200 calories and not losing weight, you're either overeating, or eating too many carbs and not tracking them. Carry a notebook with you and immediately write down each bite as you eat it. I discovered pre-op I was eating far too much. I was shocked at what I was eating!
Also, 1/3 cup of nuts has 273 calories. A cup of veggies has like 50. It's also much easier to overeat nuts than veggies. You'd be better off eating 3 ounces of beef instead for slightly fewer calories and 2x the protein (or more).
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I would suggest adding unflavored protein to your other food. I add protein to my water with a little lemonade sugarfree flavoring. You can add unflavored protein to anything!

I ate 1/2 a waffle house waffle with sugar free syrup and a few bites of hash browns with my eggs before my pre op liquids.
I think I also ate a donut also.
Other than that- I was good because I had been dieting for 6 months prior due to insurance req- and had already lost 50 pounds before surg
I picked up some Kefir from the supermarket the other day, the plain flavor is pretty low carb. I added some 0 cal caramel syrup flavoring for coffee and stuff to it, made it much easier to drink. Dont care for bitter plain yogurt flavors lol

Hi Everyone
I had RNY almost 3 years ago. I was able to lose about 80lbs, but gained back about 20 or so a year later. I have not been eating well, and have felt a little depressed. I am trying to get back into exercising, and controlling what I'm eating again - but it is so hard. I am still about 70lbs from my goal weight. I would love suggestions or ideas to get my butt back into gear. Thank you
Ashley

RNY - 01Aug2013
Had first child in January 2016.
When I wake up I have a protein shake
snack - 1/2 cup cottage cheese or such
lunch - protein shake
snack - cup of veggies or 1/3 cup of nuts
supper - 4 oz lean meat. Half plate of veggies and 2 real tbsp of carb not heaping.
What's a typical day of food?

I am a bit over a year out, and am also thinking of a fitness competition. I'm about 139 (+/- one or two pounds) and really want to get down another ten of fat, and add about 7 of muscle. Have you guys had any luck?
Hi all -
I'm 2 weeks post op and was cleared to soft foods stage (just ate my first egg...yeah!).
I'm also cleared to start taking supplements and would like to find bariatric-friendly replacements for a couple of my supplements.
I haven't found anything for a probiotic.
Also, has anyone done fish oil this early? I can do a liquid but my nutritionist says that fats are hard to tolerate at this stage.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Lisa
