I make myself drink a protein shake in the morning because I know I will be ten times hungrier later if I do not have something. I know other people here on OH do not eat breakfast and do just fine.

My surgeon's office never gave me a calorie count. I consumed under 1000/day while I was trying to lose.

Hey y'all. I have been having an issue lately where my stomach just doesn't seem at all interested in breakfast. It doesn't matter what I eat, after about half of it, my stomach is saying "Leave me alone!" I feel full and, sometimes, a little nauseous. Usually, in an hour and a half, I'm feeling hungry. (I take a PPI, so I don't think it's that, but you never know.) Also, the things that I eat at breakfast, I can eat the full serving at any other meal. (Full serving for me right now is 4oz by volume.)
Anyone else run into this problem? How did you solve it?
Try using the calculator at iifym.com. Choose the low carb or ketogenic option in Step 3 if you are watching your protein/carb/fat intake.
I think the result that you get there is a good place to start, but the general consensus on here is to eat within the 600-800 calorie range during weight-loss phase. I'm not too sure about the maintenance phase.
I'm about 4 months removed from RNY. I'm eating about 600-700 calories per day. Not sure I could eat more to be honest.
Have you spoken with your surgeon? I had issues with nasusea and vomiting and my Dr did an Edg and stretched the opening to my pouch. He also put me on ptotonix and carafate.
How many calories do you eat regularly? How many should someone under a year from rny be ingesting?
I am not looking for medical advice, really just a poll of what works/doesn't work. My doctor is happy with my progress, but no ine has ever asked about what I am eating or how much and when I requested an appointment with my nut thet said it wasn't necessary because I was doing so well.
If you've no****ched Fed Up,which can me found on Netflix you really should. It really shows the big business side's power and some really scary facts about children and how they process all of this information.
They showed a kid who was only 14 going in for bypass. I wasn't prepared of my lap and at 31 much less here I am at 39 looking for a revision and am just finally getting it.

Your very welcome. This doc was very eye opening for me. I find it interesting that of all the nutrients listed on food labels sugar is the only one not required to list a RDA (recommended daily amount). Tell me the Sugar Lobby doesn't have the government by the balls. The more I learn about the food industry as a whole the more I realize that the health of individuals is not even a consideration. It's big business and big money. People have to really look out for themselves and their health cause no one else is.

Are you on something for stomach acid (Protonix, Prevacid, etc.)? If not, it could it be that you need to be on one of those.
Are you drinking protein shakes? If not, and you can keep them down, that might be a better option for you at this point in time. Maybe your stomach's trying to tell you that it hasn't healed enough for solid foods?
Good luck to you. I hope you find the answer that you need and can't get back to a more normal life.
((Hugs))
