Hello! I am going to try to get back on to the daily food threads again, it's been so long! Typical day today, kids off to school, rush in to the office, work work work, rush home, and hopefully some good family time before crashing into bed :) Last night I went to the Cher concert here in Ottawa, and I am a little tuckered out from that :)
QOTD: I love birdsong. I do have a funny memory when I was a kid, summer after summer a bird would stay somewhere outside my house, and he had a funny song that sounded EXACTLY like he was repeating my 2 syllable name over and over. And over. AND OVER. I used to get so annoyed (but also loved it).
B: Protein bar which I hate and never have but we need groceries and I was desperate :)
L: chicken drumsticks with the skin yanked off (yuk, am I the only one who's grossed up by chicken skin texture?) and grilled mixed veggies
D: not sure yet. We have a lot of leftovers, maybe some kind of steak and grilled veggie (sandwich for family, bowl for me).
S: some icelandic yoghurt and sugarless jam I think. Or a Skyr 'icecream' bar.
Exercise: Got a new bike, might cautiously take it for a quick spin tonight

Goddess in training...
Its one of my favorite soups....hearty and filling yet not fattening.
Cruisin' NICE I'll be getting out for my lunch time walk soon.
Having one of those crazy days at work....didn't I say earlier not much on the go? Sshhhhhh JINXY!
I would keep calling until I get someone who listens. I called a lot. I was super courteous and diplomatic every time in an effort to not **** them off. Some times they would blow me off, other times I just called at the right time and got my appt and actual surgery moved up. I swear I saved myself at least 6 months by doing so.
Be patient but continue to advocate for yourself. Once you get your appt dates, you will have more leverage to start calling for cancellations.
All the best!

Ginny you make me laugh. Your menu looks yummy. Cabbage roll soup sounds so good.
More errands and paperwork today. I can hardly contain my elation. DH and I might go cruise the main drag with the top town. It's what all the old folks like to do and meet up at the A&W for a root beer float, lol. Seriously this afternoon is supposed to be warm and sunny, and then in a few days we are getting snow - enough already.
The eats today at 4 years 9 months post-op are:
B. Coffee, and then a SF/LC cinnamon roll that I didn't eat over the holidays.
L. I'm going to Costco so I will eat all of the meat, cheese, yogurt samples.
D. Burger with bacon and a small salad
S. Cocoa before bed.
Have a great day everyone.

Just a caution, but be careful with vitamins and other supplements. It may not be ok to double your dose without running it by your doctor. It's easy to think of these as "healthy" but more difficult to remember that they may be harmful in anything other than recommended dosages.
I've posted about memory loss and someone mentioned not to trust the docs so... I doubled my multivitamin. I'm taking 2 Materna a day and I feel soooooo much better. However, today I doubled my calories and had a crazy binge. So much so that I had sharp pains in my sides. So yes, the title is deceiving but bloody hell I am SCREWEDDDDDDD.
posterity.
I only have one thought - do you still have your gall bladder?
Good morning Gang! It was strangely quiet at the gym this morning - like I was the only one in the change room quiet!! I guess everyone is tired!! LOL
Not much on the go today - I'm back in the gym routine (sort of) now I just got to get back in the eating routine....maybe tomorrow!!
3 yrs out
B - turkey kielbasa sandwich
S - skyr, small scoop of egg salad - real small - my Trucker can only put so much on his sandwich and then leaves like a tbsp put it in your damn sandwich, its not enough for me to make a snack out of
L - chicken burger with a lettuce bun
S - protein bar maybe
D - I saw some leftover cabbage roll soup in the fridge this morning so I'll probably clean that up
Have a good day my menu friends.
It has been 13 months since my vsg and I have lost 130 lbs. Now at random times about 30 minutes after eating or drinking I get pain on both sides. It starts out very minimal and I can feel it getting worse as if it is moving out growing. It can be hard to breath sometimes while the pain is there and lying on my stomach helps. After about anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes it will slowly go away and I can feeling it moving down and then just stop. Had anyone had this experience? Could it be gas or backed up? Maybe lacking something or not enough of something? It has only started recently
