What am I forgetting???
O.k. I am a planner by nature and by profession! ( I plan meetings, events, large conference etc)
So why do I feel like I am forgetting something when it comes to being prepared for this baby????? I think I have everything you need and I know you can always get it later ( although that's no my style)
Soooo Ladies, what are the must have and nice to haves for baby?? I am even thinking 6-9 months down the road.
Thanks,
Kim

I felt this way even as we were driving to the hospital when I was in labor. Turns out I packed way too much and not the right things. I wanted my own PJ's in the hospital. the gown was getting uncomfortable after the first day. if you are going to nurse make sure the top that you bring is something easy to nurse in, chances are (if this is your first) there are going to be about 10 different people a day touching your boobs to help you get the hang of it - lol - it was a bit wierd at first but the nurses were great. Make sure you have some kind of nipple cream too and use it even if you don't think you need to - you'll be glad you did later. I brought an empty diaper bag too for all my "free stuff" from the hospital.
Amelia is 3 weeks old now and the main things that she uses are the bouncy seat (she LOVES this), I have the pack-n-play set up in the living room and it doubles as a changing table and bassinet for her to sleep in during the day, simple to put on outfits in newborn size (I had 1 for each sex - we didn't know what she was ahead of time) and had to send someone out for more clothes, bathtub, towels and washcloths, wedge for the crib, lots of receiving blankets in different weights, bottles - inserts - formula (if you are going this route), newborn size diapers. I think that's most of what we use every day. Oh and the boppy newborn pillow, she likes to lay in that during the day too.
Good luck!

That feeling is normal. I think it's mostly the anticipation of the loss of control.
This is my 8th and I STILL don't feel ready before each birth. I don't think it is "things" I need though. I believe the feeling is coming from me wanting the baby to get here so I can finally adjust to the new lifestyle I will be facing with a new little one, and so I can figure out a routine.
Let's face it, no matter how many things we have for the baby, we'll never be prepared for the unexpecting. Like with my first at about 7mo I din't expect a febril siezure.
With my 3rd I didn't expect having a waterbirth nor did I expect the pain I felt afterwards.
With my 4th I didn't expect having thrush for 5 months straight.
With my 5th I didn't expect getting pregnant without ever having a PPAF.
With my 6th I didn't expect a 10lb 9oz baby could be delivered in 45 mins.
With my 7th I didn't expect to have so much anxiety about birthing, as I did.
With this one I didn't expect to be moving weeks before the birth!
Even as they grow there are things I am faced with that I knew were coming but didn't think they were coming NOW. I mean my oldest got her first pimple breakout this week! Ahhhh!!! They grow up fast.
So in the end I think it's a natural feeling and it's a feeling of knowing you will no longer truly be in control of your life once baby is born.
:D
That's my take on it.
