Finally got Kenzie home from NICU (Pics too)
A rough road, but she sure looks cute and happy! I bet she feels so much better, too!
Banded 03/22/06 276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)
Sleeved 07/11/2013 228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
Thank you! It's been great having her home! Daddy just held her and held her for a long time when we got home (and I took a LONG LONG much needed nap...er......slumber). Daddy only got to visit with the other kids while I stayed up there with her the whole time. I just could not leave her up there alone. Daddy missed his girl! But we're so glad to have the whole family back again and have Kenzie healthy!
Gosh, what that poor little girl has been though and she is still smiling! She is so darn sweet and I am glad to hear that she is doing better.
I see they had to put an IV in her poor little head, they had to do the same thing with Matty and it broke my heart. Please update us when you can, your family is in my prayers still!

Awww thank you!! Yeah, it's SO amazing how happy she was and what a trooper she was during the whole thing. The first 3 days were pretty hard on her, but after that she was still her sweet self. I'm SO absolutely blessed to be her Mom. She's SO awesome I can't even describe it! Daddy feels the same way as well. We often just stare at her for long periods of time and she hardly EVER gets put down, just like she was our first born or something!
I HATE those IV's in the head! If you noticed in the second two pics, it was in a different place. She had a total of 5 IV's while she was there; 2 on each side of her head, one in each hand, one in the foot and then had a PICC line snaked up through her ankle up her leg and into her body. Poor little girl! It broke my heart! She also had to have that NG tube in her nose into her stomach with a replogle drain (drained out her gastric juices cuz her intestines were asleep and not moving after surgery) and had to have it replaced twice. Gosh, I hated that thing too!! lol Heck I hated the whole situation, but had we not had found this and gotten her fixed, then the outcome could have been VERY different, so I'm glad she got fixed, but really hated the process afterwards.....even though I KNOW it was necessary. But every Mom HATES to have their child experience ANY pain, necessary or not. Just wished I coulda snapped a finger.......ugh! I did get to meet a lot of neat people.......other Moms with kids way worse off and made me SO thankful that Kenzie was able to get fixed and come out virtually 100% healthy.
Thanks for your sweet compliments on our daughter! My only update I have right now is that I'm still catching up on sleep when I can, Daddy is still loving on his little girl like we just got home yesterday, and my other kiddos are eating up the time that they get to spend with their little sister. They are SO in love with her. She has really made our family complete and bonded us so close.......it's so amazing that one little person can do ALL that! But she has!
