How do I stop BF'ing?
I am really fighting it but I know I should just give in to the inevitable but the thought of never breastfeeding Anberlin again seriously breaks my heart! I had to feed her a bottle the other day and I cried the entire time. I hate that I can't give her everything she needs anymore. During the day I pump about 3 oz. in a 12 hr time period. Sometimes Annie doesn't get enough from me after I feed her at night that I need to give her a bottle for her to be full. A lot of times she won't even focus on eating and she will just roll around and I just have to give up and make her a bottle. I tried to use the Motherlove stuff and Fenugreek and it did NOTHING. I tried to get a script from my Dr and Annie's Dr and they both refused. Mentally I am ready to be done but emotionally I can't bring myself to do it. I need your advice ladies!!

I lucked out, I had a self-weaning child :)
Once my production dropped, he decided it wasn't worth the effort anymore. It feels sad to stop, but seriously, after a few days, you aren't sad anymore. If you're down to only getting 3 oz pumping during the day, the end is nigh. gradually reduce the # of times you pump over a few days until you stop. If you get engorged, pump or express just enough to relieve the discomfort. it took about 2 weeks for me to totally stop making milk once I stopped all pumping and bf'ing.

I wouldn't be able to stop when looking at a face like that either, seriously. She is such a gorgeous little girl! Best of luck with weaning... that's tough. I haven't been through it (yet) but know a lot of moms who have difficulty. (Then, there are the moms who get bitten and are like, I'M DONE! LOL)

If you don't want to give up, don't! It might be hard to get your supply up again during the evening but it can be done! After each feeding (let Anberlin decide when it's over) pump for 10 mins, I would also suggest pumping before you go to bed (if Anberlin does not get up at night to nurse). Demand more of your body at those times and it will produce more, you can PM me if you want info on otherways to increase your milk if you want.
Everytime someone suggests weaning to me I want to cry, so I know how you feel on that front.
