'Wasting' ovulations.......

Before I had my WLS I completely stopped ovulating and having periods. We tried for 2 years to get pregnant with no luck! I cried and cried, and was depressed for a long while. But now since I had my surgery, and I have lost 100 pounds I have my period (and ovulate) every single month on the clock. I was telling my husband that every month I feel like we are wasting my eggs and ovulation time! I know that sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is. I'm not crazy enough to try to get preg right now because I still have weight to lose and I don't want to mess with that. But some months its so hard to wait!!

Yeah, I totally know how you feel. When ever I O (or the OPK's tell me I am) and if I can't BD I get so upset thinking that it's another month wasted. So know how you feel. I know it's hard to wait t get the weight off, but trust me, it's SO worth it!!!!!

Look at it this way:  You've got to get rid of some of the old, stale eggs that were just sitting around and then when you are ready, you'll have "SuperBaby" with a nice fresh egg minted from your new skinny body!

It will be worth the wait...hang in there.

I like your thinking.. Just wish that was how it worked.  We are given our eggs from the time we are born :(  Men get to get rid of their old dusty sperm.. but we are stuck with a certain amount of eggs that get older and older as we age :(

Just be content with the fact that at least you know NOW that those eggs WILL be there when you're able to start trying to conceive!! YAY! It's a GOOD thing!

Have you considered taking BCPs continuously (not taking the placebos) a few months at a time so you only get your period every 3 months or so?
