Post Partum Depression Update.....

The doctor's office finally called back.  She said she was the social worker and the doctor asked her to call me to see what was going on.....she talked to me for about 20 minutes on the phone.

She wants to see Anushka and I in her office on Monday and then we will go from there.  I told her about the other outside issues...aside from being a new mom, she said I have a lot up against me.  She wants to find the best fit for a psychologist for me to talk to....

She told me to hang in there until Monday and if I needed to go to the ER to let them know I was seeing her on Monday.

Thanks for listening and showing concern

Social workers can be great help...  most people dont respect them. (I am one! A SW that is)  I am glad that someone is taking you seriously and is willing to help you get you the assistance you need (edit- I think it should have been a lot sooner or a referral to someone else should have been made).  I think talking about it, and realizing the way you feel isn't something you should hide or be ashamed of is helpful, realizing it just happens to some woman.  Any time you need to shoot an email to discuss how your feeling- feel free...sometimes its nice to have some unbias opinions or even just to tell someone with no opinion.  I remember feeling completely alone to raise the kids I had (adopted- 19 & 13 and biological- 1 year old and newborn) and trying to coupe with the lies and problems that living with a rnewly ecovering addict created.  Life wasnt easy- and I remember 'faking happiness' for a long time.  Good luck, keep us update on you and baby.

It sounds like you need some sort of anti-depressant/anxiety meds. I think it is unethical of her and your Dr to wait an entire week to talk about this. I would have pushed for a sooner appt.
P.S Prozac is a beautiful thing :)

I am SO glad you are seeking help, most new moms ignore the signs and don't reach out. This is a great first step to a happy healthy relationship with your daughter, good for you for taking it!
