For lapbanders...fullness...lapband or morning sickness?
Hi everyone, need a little help here. I am currently 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have been suffering with SEVERE nausea (but not vomitting) since I was 5 + 6 - its not just in the morning, its ALL day long. On top of that, nothing sounds good, I have no appetite, and I've lost 3 lbs in a week. I often find myself feeling full, and after not eating hardly anything all day, I start eating and I'm full really quickly. I'm having trouble establishing if this is band related, or related to my "morning sickness" I'm not having trouble getting foods past my band...not getting stuck or PBing or anything...any thoughts? Do I need to get unfilled?

I have a VSG, not lapband, but I wanted to comment that what you're describing sounds very much like Morning sickness.
Morning sickness doesn't just hit in the morning... it can strike anytime. The worst for me was always around lunch and dinner time.
I ended up loosing over 15 lbs in the first trimester because of awful morning sickness, I never actually had vomiting, just an all day queasy, yucky feeling that made it impossible to eat more than a bite of anything.
Just try to nibble all day long on good carbs and protein (cheese and crackers, hummus, yogurt, etc). The protein really does help with the nausea.
Grats on your pregnancy!

I had a baby last August. I had all day morning sickness. It was much worse in the afternoon/evening for me than in the morning. Also, I had horrible smell aversions.
I did get a prescription for Zofran in the case that I was vomitting I would already have something on hand. I had a very small unfill my first trimester (very small) and kept that same level my entire pregnancy.
Just a note, that when I had my c-section I was extremely tight. Thank goodness I had explained to my OB prior to ensure I had prescription for IV, liquid, and/or crushed drugs. It sucked drinking the iron and pain medicine but it was worth it! Also, she put me on a liquid diet so the trays they brought were all things I could eat since I was so tight. Then, after about 5 days I was able to eat normally. I don't know it iwas baby, surgery, shifting around insides from c-section or what.
Good luck!

Thanks! I am nervous about the whole C-section thing because of my port/tubing...I guess thats probably just a silly worry and I don't have to think about them accidentally cutting one of those as they're taking baby out?

Thanks for posting that about your tightness. I have talked to my OB a couple of times about it. I don't think they know a lot about it. I will put in the same request. I am a planned section, and at this point my band is more open then it should be. i was scheduled to have a fill 2 days after I found out I was pg.
I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:) After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great! Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should. Now it's my turn to lose this weight! It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!
I had my first 2 kids pre-WLS and what you're describing sounds a lot like what I went through, just run-of-the-mill morning sickness... maybe the fullness thing is band-related though. I was always told that morning sickness is a sign that baby is healthy :)
Good luck!
I'm weirdly jealous... I've been TTC for 3 months and can't wait for the morning sickness to start again!! lol
