First, congratulations!
It is probably fine. "Eating for two" is a myth, you really only need about 300 extra calories when you're pregnant. That doesn't need to happen right away. I never made any intentional changes, just ate more as I was more hungry.
Every pregnancy is different. It is probably just normal pregnant-tired. With my first I wasn't tired at all, with my second I NEEDED a nap every day just to function, with this one it depends on the day. You're probably just fine.
As long as you're getting plenty of fluids and nutrition, it shouldn't be a big issue. I got pregnant 6 months post sleeve, so by the time the baby was born, I was just over a year out from surgery. I had no issues breastfeeding him. I'm sure a good lactation consultant can get you where you need to be. I'd say start early so you can get your supply up and going before the baby is born. Perhaps that way you can even have a stash in the freezer in case there are issues. Good luck!

I obviously not far enough out to plan a pregnancy but it is my plan when it's safe. Just wondering what your experience was with pregnancy after RNY?
Were you considered high risk?
Vitamins different?
Did you have to take in more calories?
Did you still have morning sickness?
How far out from surgery were?
Were you still considered overweight when you conceived?
Thanks for the info!!

I just found out, I'm only 4 weeks along. How quickly did you alter your eating? I'm thinking I would keep eating my 1000 calorie or so diet for now. Is that reasonable? Did you continue to use protein shakes?
I'm excited to be part of this board! I was MO with my first child and I'm really looking forward to experiencing pregnancy closer to a 'normal' weight.
Thanks!

Hey ladies,
I had gastric bypass about a year and a half ago and I am now 3 months pregnant. I'm scared that I'm not eating enough. I've really been deathly tired for the past week or so and I'm not sure if this is normal just because of the surgery. This is not my first pregnancy and I don't remember ever feeling this tired when I was pregnant with my other kids.
I weighed 194 when I got pregnant (8 lbs from goal), went down to 189, went back up to 193 and today I am 191. I'm honestly not hungry and pretty much have to force myself to eat. I still log my food on MFP and yesterday I only got in 700 calories. Should I start shake supplementing again?
Thanks for any advice,
