Topic: Got pg at 6 mo post-op...healthy baby

I lost 120 pounds in the first 6 mo post op.  Then I got pg.  At first I was scared to gain weight, but once I had to start seeing specialists for both me and the baby I stopped caring about my weight and started caring about our health. When I was 250 pounds pg with my DD I had NO complications, and now 160 pounds I was a walking list of problems.  They found I had a genetic disorder that causes blood clots, and I had to give myself daily blood thinner injections.  I also had low iron and b12 which I saw a hematologist for, I luckily avoided transfusions... when I was about 16 weeks pregnant I started seeing a specialist because of my bypass and blood clotting disprder and they found the baby had enlarged kidneys, so I was monitored very closely they duration of my pregnancy.  At 36 weeks I went into preterm labor which they stopped with a shot.  I made it to my scheduled repeat c/s date of May 3rd and had a healthy baby boy.  We are still monitoring his kidneys and all my levels, but so far all is well.  Idk if my rough pg was related to my wls, but I never had any complications pre-surgery with my daughter.... just make sure you see every doctor and run every test!  My first batch of bloodwork they had to take 27 vials of blood!  Now all I have to do is convince my husband to start trying again.... I want one more, but he is worried about me being pregnant again... so we will see!

A side note to think about also...you are stressing about this...so maybe it's holding out because of that!  Stress can do some weird things to a woman!  Lol!  Especially if you have other stresses going on right now as well!  Good luck to you...hope you get the result you are hoping for!  (You could always go for a blood test?!  Or maybe you didn't ovulate when you thought you did?  Wait a couple days and test again!). :)

Hi, Meli.

I haven't been around much because I have not a computer or internet at home for the time being and OH mobile is kind of a pain. My phone also likes to randomly back out of the page I'm on at the most inoportune time.

Everything is ok. Doctor changed my due date to the 23rd based on my ultrasound measurements so I had to go back almost a full week. let me tell ya that really sucked considering this already feels like the longest pregnancy in history lol. I'm 13+4 now so still to early to know the gender but I'm still thinking girl. I'm such an emotional wreck. It's so horrible I seriously cry many times a day over nothing. I've lost 20lb so far thanks to the hcg coursing thru my veins. I don't think I'll be enjoying that for much longer as I've hit the ravenously hungry stage. But overall everything is good. I'll try to pop in more often for updates so I don't worry you

i had this same pain after surgery but i wasn't sure what it was about. i think i was told it was part of the healing process. i was afraid something had popped in there. but it went away after a while.

omg!! congrats!!!!!!!!! i've been kind of tired lately too. but it could just be hormones. who knows. but i'm excited for you!! i always wanted a big family too. 3 kids. (if i had the money i'd have 5!) but after my first kid i was like OH MY GOD how do ppl do that?!  i thought for sure my baby would be an only child. lol. and then time passed and i forgot the pain. and the horrible sleepless nights. and found myself getting kind of excited at the idea that i could possibly be pregnant again. but  realistically, it won't be a bad thing if i'm not.

anyway, enough about me. congrats!!! isn't pregnancy the best? good luck on this pregnancy. i'm sure everything will go fine. doesn't hurt to be cautiously optimistic though.

*hugs*

I have really painful ovulation ever since having my daughter.  It hurts for about 30 minutes or so, sometimes enough to stop me in my tracks.  I don't think it is related to the weight loss, but I suppose it fits that timeline too.  Not sure if this is helpful at all.

Topic: RE: 9 months post-op and 10 weeks pregnant
I was around 9 mos out when I found out I was pregnant (I have an 11yr old and pretty much have up on more kids few years ago) anyway I was 8.5 wks along according to us now I'm 22 wks tomorrow. I had severe morning sickness all day sickness actually until week 13. It finally went away and now only have a bad day once in awhile. I make sure to take all my vits and supplements as I was really deficient about 6 wks ago on several labs. Eating is hard some days cause half time nothing sounds good and when I do eat something I get full fast. My ob is experienced in patients after bariatric surgery plus my surgeon sees me on reg basis plus my diabetes nurse (I'm diet controlled since surgery and doing very well so far with it staying normal) plus I have a prenatal dietician and all of them correspond so I ge****ched more closely than with my previous pregnancy way back when. Don't stress and relax an do what they ask of you the best you can. Baby will get what it needs from us no matter what we just have to take care of ourselves to keep healthy. Good luck

I Had My Sleeve Done On July 11Th And I'm Healing Up Pretty Well! But As Of Yesterday I started Having Some Pain To The Left Of My Belly Button. I'm Thinking it's Due To Me Ovulating(it's About That Time) Has Anyone Else Had Any Experience With This After WLS?
