First, a little background for those who don't know me. I have a 4.5 year old from before I had WLS. 6 months post op from my sleeve, I got pregnant with #2, he is now 1.5. Back in January we started trying for #3. I had a chemical pregnancy/ early MC in February and again in March. We took a few months off and then decided to try again. My husband works out of town a lot so timing was not good the last two months. With each of my prior pregnancies, I got sore boobs within days of ovulating and I always KNEW I was pregnant long before the positive home test (even with the losses, my symptoms were the same every time). This month, hubby was out of town when I ovulated. I knew there was a chance of getting pregnant, but had no symptoms so I figured this month was out. We began discussing being done with two and I made up my mind that even though I always though I wanted a big family, we could do a lot more things with just two kids. I told my husband that when I got my period I was going to start calling plastic surgeons to finally get my body looking decent. I've been doing tons of research and was getting really excited about the prospect of having surgery rather than more kids....
Then I was late. My cycles have been anywhere from 29 to 31 days lately, so I figured it was just going to be on the longer side. Yesterday I went to do some errands and I had to come home because I was so tired I couldn't even think straight, uh oh! Sure enough, I took a test tonight (day 33) and got the darkest positive I've ever seen! The test line was so dark there was barely enough ink for the control line! So, I guess we're not done with two, and mama's not going to get a new pair of legs any time soon! After the two losses, I'm hesitant to plan ahead and get excited, especially since I've had so few of my normal symptoms. I know, every pregnancy is different, but after 4 that all started the same, this is enough to make me cautiously optimistic. I'll just feel better when I can see it on ultrasound. Last pregnancy I didn't have one until 18 weeks, I'm going to request an early one due to the losses to help put my mind at ease. So, I guess I'm pregnant again, lol.
i have pcos so i know how u feel my period is finally starting to work like its supposed to im having a period about every 6 weeks but its getting there im 17 months post op today so im hoping in the next couple months i will be pregnant i still have a little over 100 pounds to lose but im getting there :)
I had lab tests done regarding still having PCOS. Verdict is still out...I had bad androgen levels but estrogen and testosterone were fine. I have an order in for an ultrasound but haven't got it yet.
Hopefully I kicked PCOS to the curb and hopefully my body is recovering from depo. Most don't understand why I am excited but I figured you ladies here would

Hi there. It's taken me 2+ yrs to respond, but between being in the hospital for much of my pregnancy and after, two major surgeries since and a toddler and a full time job, I don't get a lot of free time.
So how did everything go for you? I thought that it would be nice to follow-up :)

Congrats! I too had the same goal #2. I'm almost 6 months post op and 42 pounds from my dieticians goal weight (only 32 pound from my personal goal weight)... I CANNOT wait for my 12th month to hit so I can stop using this silly NuvaRing and hopefully feel the joy you are experiencing right now! Congrats again! What a beautiful journey.
depends on the surgeon. some leave it up to you, some empty it all the way. i had a partial unfill during the first trimester when i was getting stuck on everything. i gained 30 pounds during pregnancy. if you eat healthy you should gain a healthy amount for the pregnancy, depending on what your OB/midwife recommends. because my starting weight was a little higher than they wanted they only wanted me to gain 15. unfortunately my hormones had other plans in mind and i gained 30 even with eating very healthy and having a partial restriction still in place. they may have gone on the lower side expecting that i'd gain more than they wanted. my OB wanted me to have the restriction removed because i was having difficulty meeting calorie guidelines. i only ate 900ish calories a day. she wanted me closer to 1500. i couldn't do that with full restriction.
So, I had VSG last October. Now this, wow. Just wow. Our 5yr old Son is going to be THRILLED!!! He's been asking if we can "get a baby" for the past few months. I'm so nervous & excited!!! My OB is versed in treating post WLS patients and said she's just going to keep an extra eye on the baby's growth, more ultrasounds. Wow. I can't believe this is happening.
