Thank you so much for sharing, and congrats on your baby! That is so good to hear that it went so smoothly for you :)
Hi Mary! I know it's been a while since you posted about your copper, but I too have this issue now (almost 9 years post op) and wondered how "it turned out" for you? I also noticed we are relatively close to one another in MD! I live in Lexington Park (in St. Mary's County) how neat! I would love an update on your copper situation and any helpful suggestions/comments on your experience! This stuff is scary! Thanks! Glori

I got pregnant six months after my sleeve surgery and it was completely uneventful. Overall, the pregnancy was very similar to my first. No morning sickness, hpb, or ges diabetes (knock on wood). The only difference was that I looked a lot cuter and my body was much happier being pregnant at 130lbs than at 200lbs. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!
What kind of surgery did you have? There are a lot of factors to consider.... Did you have a surgery with malabsorbtion? Are you at or near goal weight? Do you ever have trouble getting all your fluids or protein in? Do you take your vitamins every day? Are your labs good?
If you're not in good health before getting pregnant, it just makes things riskier for both you and the baby. It can certainly be done, but definitely consider the factors above.
I got pregnant six months after my sleeve surgery. I gained 18 lbs during the pregnancy and lost it all by the time the baby was 3 weeks old. I then went on to lose another 10 over the next six months. My restrictions after pregnancy is different than it was before, but that is more likely because I was only six months out when I got pregnant. Overall, I still have pretty good restriction (almost 3 years post op) I can eat about 2-3 ounces of dense protein with a little bit of veggies. During my pregnancy, I snacked a lot to make sure I was eating enough, but never felt like I had any trouble eating enough. Good luck!
I gained about 18 lbs with my post op pregnancy. Lost it all in about 3 weeks after delivery, and then went on to lose another 10 over the next 6 months. I didn't really do anything to lose it.
