Hello and congratulations on your surgery and on your pregnancy!!! First of all stop being so worried you and your baby will be fine you just need to make sure to eat a balanced diet AND to take your vitamins every single day. . .its good to take extra iron and also an extra folic acid. . .folic acid is so so important during the babies development and it can only help. :)

Hello and congrats on your operation and also on your pregnancy. I have had two post op pregnancies, with the first one I was hungry all the time but of course I couldn't eat more than only what I could fit. . .I only gained 45 pounds and that was with being pregnant with twins. Now I'm actually in week 33 of my 2nd post op pregnancy and this one was so much different than the first. . .Also a twin pregnancy, I had really bad morning sickness in the beginning and lost a lot of weight.. . .I don't know exactly how much weight in total I lost, but I know I lost a lot, that was only in the beginning of the pregnancy though now I'm back to normal and have gained about 30 pounds so far. I have to take extra iron, which is receommended for us post ops and also an two extra folic acid's a day. You probably only need to take one extra folic acid a day but since mine are twin pregnancies I needed to take two extra a day. I hope this advice helps :)

Hi There - I was never formally diagnosed with pcos - but I had many of the symptoms and couldn't conceive in my thirties when I was married and trying.  I had very irregular or no periods for years.  After wls 20 months ago, at age 42 - surprise!  I am now 18 weeks along.  I had not paid attention to my cycles my whole life so when I missed one - it was my boyfriend who brought up pregnancy.  I thought I was going through the change. So yes for me it made my cycles very regular and poof without trying I got pregnant - very surprised but happy!

Interesting question.  I am suppose to do the test at 20 weeks.  orange gunk is sitting in my fridge now.  my concern was more from just getting it all down as i've had severe morning sickness that has really hampered my liquid and food intake.

Hi There - I got pregnant about same time out from surgery with my first child.  I didn't have hunger at all - then the severe morning hit about 8 weeks in. I've actually lost 15 lbs since finding out I was pregnant.  I'm now at 18 weeks and still dealing with getting sick every day - beginning to wonder if the tiny tummy has made it worse??  Been taking zofan but doesn't do much.  t am finally gaining a little back but still not really hungry and into my 5th month.  I took gummy pre-natals when I could, drank lots of milk/yogurt for calcium.  OBGYN doesn't seem concerned at all by my lack of weight gain but I need to gain 2 to 4 pounds each month for the rest of pregnancy.   Don't know if that helps.

I am 5 to 6 weeks pregnant and this is my 4th child.  The other 3 were before surgery.  I'm really not having any hunger like I did with the others as of yet.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Also, In addition to prenatal vitamins what others do you take?

Topic: RE: Weight Gain During Pregnancy

I got prego about year and half after rny and started out at 130 and I actually put on weight fast the first three months like 15 lbs. but I'm 33 weeks prego now and my weight has just slowed down so I have been 160 for about a month now. So I wouldn't be worried. I can't and have no desire to not give into my craving but I try to incorporate healthy snacks in my diet.
