I'm suffering from complete panic. I'm 13 weeks and up 10 pounds. I'm 3 years out from RNY but I had a revision in September last year due to horrific ulcers. I should not be gaining this much weight this fast but I am always hungry and not having any issues with eating like I did before. Help me. I need some friendly words of guidance to get me back on track.

Hello Ladies!
I am currently 8 week along and over 7 years post op, and I have a question for the ladies who have already had children after weight loss.
I of course have some extra skin. I have a funny little pooch of skin above my belly button that kind of hangs over, and I am worried that I won't have that smooth cute round pregnant belly and that I will have this weird fat bump! lol
What were your experiences like as you grew if you had skin issues that you did not have fixed before kids? I am hoping it will "push out" or smooth out but not sure! Just curious :) Any stories are welcome!
I had my one year surgiversary on January 11 2014 and a few days ago I found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant. Im super happy about the pregnancy but also worried because of my surgery and that I was supposed to wait til 2 years post op before getting pregnant. Has anyone one else gotten pregnant shortly after their one year post op? If so how did the pregnancy go? Were there any complications? Would you suggest a Doctor or a midwife. This is obviously my first pregnancy and Im kinda worried that a bunch of things could go wrong because of my rny.
This hasn't been easy. I'm 20 weeks pregnant with twin girls and just about 9.5 months post op. I have to hold my belly because of the changes when I walk. I believe I have developed a hernia along the middle of my upper abdominal muscles. I failed my sugar test and refused the second - so they are monitoring me. I'm just really uncomfortable right now and needed to vent. I have a ways to go still and I'm already so uncomfortable!! I was at 155 when I found out about the pregnancy - down 120 lbs on my journey. Today I'm at 165. Watching the scale rise is hard. I know it's for the babies but it's still messing with my head. Trying not to use the pregnancy as an excuse for poor choices but I have still made them. My capacity seems to have increased but I know my limits on portions and what is right for me. I can comfortably eat about a cup to a cup and a half of food. Depends on the type of food. Dense protein is at a half cup. Anyway - I'm frustrated and tired and crabby. Yay for babies.
I had RNY in Aug 2010 and my surgeon said 18 months as well. I got pregnant at 17 months post op.
My surgeon said at least 18 months. It was highly recommended not to try any sooner than that.
I talked to my Dr at my 20week apt yesterday his response was I guess we will have to give you something for vomiting if that's what your afraid of or otherwise we will treat you as if you have GB and make you ***** your finger everyday for the rest of the pregnancy. Feeling frustrated cause he doesn't seem to get it, and I know he hasn't treated many patients with VSG but my options in such a small town are very limited.

I had the glucose test with my first 2 pregnancies (pre WLS). With my last baby (post WLS) my Dr sent me to the diabetes clinic at the hospital where I spent a few hours with other expectant mothers (that failed the glucose test) learning about gestational diabetes, except I didn't have gestational diabetes and none of the other mothers had WLS..so that part was pointless, but in the end I was given a glucometer and taught how to check my blood. This was at around 28 weeks, so I checked my blood before and after every meal for about 2 weeks and recorded my #'s and gave them to my Dr. They were all fine so she said I could just randomly check my blood every week for the rest of my pregnancy. No glucose test thank god!
