Topic: Pregnant during surgery?
I have a friend that had the bypass 4 weeks ago. She went to the er this weekend where she was told she was pregnant. 4-6 weeks. Obviously she conceived right before surgery. The gave her a blood pregnancy test the morning of surgery and obviously it came back negative, because they went on with the surgery. She is completely freaked out now. Has anyone dealt with this and can anyone give me advise for her?

You may want to talk to your doctor.... and have your levels checked.... After both my pregnancies my vitamin levels took a huge hit. Plus you need to let your body heal somewhat...

Even though my kids are 25 months apart, my son's pregnancy was extremely rough, after I had my daughter. I'm still not completely back to normal and my son is 17 months.

I had my son at almost 23 months post op. I didn't have supply issues but I just wanted to offer some help if I can. Please make sure you are getting enough sleep. Your body produces most milk while you are sleeping. Also just make sure you are relaxing your body and keeping your son on your chest. I worried in the beginning A LOT! I was just told to camp out at home with my baby and relax, drink lots, eat and enjoy being a mom! Remember too that your baby is able to suck stronger than your pump so what you are getting from pumping is usually less than what your baby is getting. Look into breast feeding groups in your area. I went every Thursday and it made a huge difference. I can help you find one if you would like. Keep your head up

I had supply issues after surgery. But then again I had supply issues with my first baby before surgery, too.

My daughter was 3 when I got pregnant with #2. My second was only 5 months old when I got pregnant with #3. I only had one period after having him and before I got pregnant.

Anyone have a supply issue?
I'm over 5 years out from RNY and my 3 week old son isn't breast feeding due to jaundice and me having to supplement formula with a bottle. He eats 3 ounces via bottle every 2 hours: I'm only pumping 2-2.5 ounces every 2 hours. I'm eating oatmeal, taking fenugreek, drinking over 5 cups of mothers milk tea, drinking lots of water and Gatorade a day. I feel like I should be producing so much more milk by now.
Lastly, when did you get back in metformin?

Monistat makes a powder cream that is amazing. You won't get that white mess and it stays were you put it. It's non mediated and with the yeast infection stuff. I swear by it!!

Monistat Cream or the generic version will work just fine.  Clean, dry and then a thin coat of Monistat and it will clear up in a few days. Use regularly to prevent the yeast/fungal growth.
