Strictures?? How many ?

Another stricture.....another endoscopy....another Dr. / hospital bill!  This makes my 3rd one since surgery. Here's to hoping its the last!! Just wondering how many out there have had them and how many did you have before it finally stopped??  This is where patient pay stinks even more!!

I had five dilations about 2 weeks apart for two months. It was not until my GI specialist, not surgeon, injected a drug called kenalog into all four quadrants of the scar tissue that it actually solved the problem. I feel your pain. it is like two steps forward and three steps back. You WILL make it through, just be patient.

 I had 3 dilations, each a week apart.  It stinks!  

I had two in 4 months, just one yesterday. I'm confused about if dilated for an ulcer and narrowing, such as me. you mean we can close up that fast in a matter of days or weeks? I just had two and was told to get ready for another and another! Not liking this!!!

They are not particularly common.  My surgeon said about 20%, but I'm honestly not sure where she got that statistic at I never bothered to ask since I don't know anyone in "real life" that had one... no one in our 20+ person support group).

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with them!
