Good afternoon ! Wow it has been a hot minute since I have been here! That being said I owe a lot of my long term success to this forum and the folks that have historically posted here . I just smcelebrated 11 years since my surgery. And happy to report I am still maintaining at 5'11 and 193-195 lbs and my a1c was 5.4 last dr visit.

Qotd - I have visited China twice and have to say that I did it try anything that was over the top, some of the best food I have ever had ! The veggies , Fish and even tofu was just better and I am not able to duplicate the flavors , the combination of steam and wok cooking is a science.

b - protein bar

l - salami and cheese

d- unsure

stay healthy my friends , Mike

Wouldnt eat those "specialties" either lol!

But I do grow a bunch of Asian veggies- theyre super productive far more than European ones-and U can buy big seed packets in h mart! Almost zero pests here either...

perpetual scallions , baby leeks n oriental eggplants (& yard long sweet green beans ) r myspecialties... also many different types of potatoes from South America including sweet potatoes n yams ( probably African in origin ) n of course heirloom tomatoes.. basils n herbs.

I also grow baby vegetables ( yes theyre totally different seeds ) like tiny patty pan squash and finger sized sweet lil zucchinis.

All super healthy! U jes feel so great scarfin down homegrown fresh picked food ... and eat a lot less becuz they contain so many more satisfying vitamins.

Finally wakin up , having furniture delivered..basking in th sun ...

b-ff milk challah bread roll

l- seafood salad , shrimp salad a croissant n pickles

d-stuffed grape leaves, milk

exercise- gonna walk in Central Park

Oh no that's not good. At least it sounds like what the nurse told you is working. I hope things take a turn for the better.

OH is not playing nice today. I've typed up three times to start the thread and then it won't let me post.

Good Tuesday Morning Gang. The first day of the outage has gone very well to the point we are 6 hours ahead of schedule. When I covered the scale house lunch yesterday I noticed a piece of the outbound guardrail was ripped apart where the sidearm drivers get out. I let maintenance know so there are no driver injuries.

I've stumbled up a Youtube channel called Crazy Korean Cooking. The food they make looks amazing and I'm making a Christmas list of things I want to buy so I can make the stuff. Everything is so fresh looking. I also found out that there is a huge Asian market called Hmart up near the Boston area. I might just have to take a ride.

QOTD: Speaking of Asian Cuisine would you ever eat something out of the ordinary that you wouldn't normally buy? I definitely would with the exception of a few things like stinky tofu, 100-year-old eggs, and the eggs that have the baby chicks still in them. I really want to try this raw crab marinated in soy sauce that was in one of their videos.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: beef brisket

D: French onion chicken breast

Hitting the Y for a yoga class and then working on cleaning out a closet.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Ugh. Not having an easy recovery this time out. I'm hating life at the moment.
I'm having extra swelling...yay...and post nasal drip is causing me to have symptoms mimicking a stricture forming. I messaged my surgeon's nurse, and she talked me through things and sent me some paperwork on how to hopefully fix this without taking a trip to the ER for IV fluids. What she suggested is working for the most part, and I'm slightly less miserable today.
I'm still on clear liquids, which is sucking. I'm hoping this gets better. I breezed through recovery from my original gastric bypass, so this has been an extra hard time for me.
Luckily, I remember tons of posts about foamies, slimeys, and an intolerance to plan water, which seems to be one of my problems. And I miss just being able to drink water.
QOTD: Right now, yes...I think anything high fat would be way too much for my system. Normally, I don't really worry too much ably it, but too much beef fat can make me feel icky. Before this, I used 2% or skim Fairlife milk for protein shakes, and to drink to help raise my blood sugar. I'd add some HWC to the skim for some extra oomph. I use full fat everything else in regards to dairy.
Nutrition for me today has been pretty much nothing. I've managed to sip on red tea and bone broth today. That's it. Boo hiss.

0/10. Do not recommend.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Good mornin y'all.

I've got an appointment this morning but other than that nothing much is happening. Much to my dismay my mom is decorating for Christmas already. I'm a grinch...oh well. It makes her happy so there is that. I am sore as heck from dragging stuff out and up the stairs. I know I shouldn't be doing it but I felt guilty and then my stubbornness kicked in.

Mounjaro has kicked in with helping keep my blood sugar down. It's a lot better.

I've got to figure out something to get my boss for Christmas. I made her a pendant I hope she'll like with anodized special titanium. I'll attach it at the bottom of the post.

QOTD: I try to watch saturated fats but overall I don't worry about it as much a carbs. At least carbs and fiber together. If it's fiber rich I am more forgiving of carbs somewhat. If I do have carb rich stuff(I'm looking at you potatoes) I try to pair it with a fat/protein rich food.

B: eggs and coffee

the rest is unplanned

I'm trying to sell this wallet chain and no one is interested...it is chonky!
