You need to pick yourself back up and make YOUR health a priority. You need to remind yourself why you wanted to get weight loss surgery in the first place. Remember what you were doing before "life hit you hard" and the success you were having.
Trust me we have all had setbacks at one time or another. Let go of the rope and grab the bull by the horns to get back on track with taking care of yourself.
Hi All -
I was with John and Julia last night (I'm in Boston) and they told me about White Dove. I found her obit - although I'm not sure how private she was about her surgery, so I didn't want to post it here (otherwise, if someone googled her name they might find this site - although I'm not sure on this). To be on the safe side, if you want to see it but don't know her real name, send me a message (on OH is fine) and I'll give it to you so you can google the obit.
Good Morning Gang. Yesterday was a pretty depressing day. Between hearing about the passing of White Dove, helping my co-worker with his FMLA, and then finding out one of Irvin's aunts passed on Sunday (she was 92) it was a crummy day.
Anyway the weekend was great we had a good time at the garlic festival and there was a vendor selling deep fried garlic. I bought 2 bags there were so good. Not much going on this week at work and I hope it stays that way.
QOTD: Do you have everything set-up for when you pass? I have a cemetery plot paid for and I know Irvin wants to be cremated, but we don't have anything set-up with a funeral home and that's something we've been talking about. You just never know when your clock runs out.
B: coffee and breakfast wrap
L: roast turkey sandwich
D: chicken marsala with spaghetti squash
We'll hit the Y tonight after football practice with the grandson.
Have a great day everyone!!!
"I was close to getting weight loss surgery but life hit me hard, and now at over 500 lbs I've completely lost my motivation -- how do I keep going when I feel like I'm at the end of my rope?"
it's true - she passed on Friday. I'm in Boston and just had dinner with John and Julia - they told me the news. So sad. I've been Facebook friends with Mary for years and roomed with her at the OH conference in California a couple of years ago. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. I'm still in shock.
Oh no. The last post from Mary was on the 12th and she was one to always post on the daily thread. Her stories were the best. She will be greatly missed.
Thanks for starting the daily thread Jim. I've been helping a co-worker get his FMLA and CT Paid leave situated as he starts chemo and radiation today. I'm not liking this Monday morning to much sad news.

Jim,
I always enjoyed Mary's thoughtful replies. Thank you for letting us know. She was truly a gem.
Good morning, everyone!
I believe that White Dove (Mary) passed away late last week. If I'm wrong, and this is a Mark Twain situation, I greatly apologize, but I know that she will forgive me.
I will miss Mary, I loved her Angela's Ashes type stories of growing up in a huge Irish Catholic family, her groundbreaking as a woman in the computer programming industry, and her savvy WLS advice.
A smart lady, excellent writer, and kind soul. Rest in Peace, White Dove.
