It hasn't even been a full month being on Contrave and I'm trying to be really strict with food to get off to a good start. So far...no white starches such as bread, potato, noodles, etc. In past diet attempts with the 'Pound of Cure' plan it worked well but you must eat 1-2# of veggies a day. This med combo really has my gastric bypass pouch functioning at 100% so I can hardly get in any veggies. Gal Pals and I are due for a birthday lunch next week and they've chosen our favorite American/Chinese place. Normally it takes me several days to eat one order from their lunch combo menu, that's out now! On that menu the dishes and apps are all coated and deep fried. A cup of egg drop soup (that has cornstarch) or a house salad with no protein in it just won't do.
I've never ordered any of these before so could any of you give an opinion what would be healthiest? Sadly, I think everything is fried but I think none come with rice. (I could just ask for that on the side and take it home for Hubby.) These are all off the dinner menu so no guarantee they'll agree to making these at lunch. Shrimp seems a good choice because of the high protein but I have no idea if it is coated and deep fried or not.
Here goes: Shrimp with fresh veggies, Shrimp with broccoli, Vegetable or Shrimp Chop Suey, Combination Vegetable (?) from the vegetable/tofu section, Kung Pao tofu. If any of you have eaten these at this type of Chinese restaurant could you give your opinions of these dishes?
Thanks, Molly

I swear it is the goat and rabbit poop that is making a different this year with the plants.
We did it everyone. We are recertified has an OSHA VPP Star company. It was a rather nerve-racking week, but it all paid off in the end. I think there is only two other plants that need to be recertified this year.
I dont like eggs and am lactose intolerant so that leaves out most breakfast foods. I can handle pancakes or waffles. I usually have toast with a piece of ham or cheese. I love leftover pizza or pasta for breakfast but end up with heartburn if I do that now. I have a hair appointment at noon and not sure what else going on today.
Love the garden pictures. Everything looks so healthy. Everyone have a good weekend.

Good morning everybody!
I knew that if I kept thinking it was Friday I would eventually be correct. And here I am. At work we have switched to a M,W,Th. In-office schedule, so I am at home today. Friday was actually my favorite day to go into the office because of light traffic, but I was outvoted.
Our charitable event was fun yesterday, we worked with a group that provides books to the schoolchildren in certain areas of Chicago. Lunch was a pretty good salad. The after-event was held back in the city, so I passed. Just driving through the suburbs was 1 1/2 hours.
The plans for this weekend are a 10-K tomorrow morning, and we are going to an early Father's Day dinner on Sunday.
Pictures are from our fishing trip last week.
QOTD: usually I prefer traditional breakfast food, but not always. I can digest pretty much anything, but eggs are still something that I can just eat in small portions.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: Italian sandwich
Dinner: steak
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good mornin Jennifer and everyone! Your plants look great!
We unexpectedly have the kids until 6 today. My mom is going to pick them up then I have PT this morning at 10.
We had severe weather in my general area last night. Lubbock, where Texas tech is almost got hit by a huge tornado. They got a lot of hail & wind damage and some flooding(they always flood). Morton which is close to them had a huge wedge tornado move by them. The videos and pictures coming out of there are amazing and scary as heck. I'll attach a photo of a mobile radar that was VERY close to the tornado at the end of my post.
I hope to chainmaille today quite a bit. I have one load of bedding to wash and put away. After PT I might not feel up to either but I'll try. Tuesday it kicked my ass. My shoulder hurts really bad and somehow I've managed to hurt my other arm around the elbow. When I try to lift things and raise my arm. It's been around a few weeks but I hope it'll stop soon.
we ended up getting Thai food yesterday. They have a new thing that's just meal and veggies in a low sugar sauce/broth. So so good. I can't eat rice and rice noodles are even harder on me. So happy they finally have something other than satay that I can have.
QOTD: I can do whatever fits at the time. I'm a big fan of breakfast foods anytime but like this morning I can do without regular breakfast stuff. Though I am not proud of my choice this morning! LOL
B: 6 totinos pizza rolls. Coffee. I was lazy this morning for sure.
L: egg, street size tortilla and what's left of my Thai atkins bowl I got at the Thai place yesterday.
D: not sure on this one. It may end up being a PP shake.
Happy Friday Gang. We are almost done with the audit they are wrapping it up at 11am today so we are having a closing lunch then which is just deli sandwiches. I think we did really well, but we will see if they recertify us. Irvin went over to his sister's house yesterday afternoon to help her with her baler. It would pickup the hay and she didn't know what was wrong. He got it all straighten out and showed her how to properly use it.
When I got home yesterday it was still so hot out that I decided just to water everything and wait a bit for it to cool down before I did anything outside. By the time it was cool enough I didn't feel like doing anything so just took some picture of what is left to put in the ground and how the plants are doing. We have some summer squash and peppers coming in and the garlic scapes are starting to curl so I will be cutting them probably next week.
QOTD: Do you prefer actual breakfast foods for breakfast or would you eat anything? Doesn't really matter to me. I usually have some sort of egg thing just because I have an abundance of eggs and they are easy to make, but I have had all sorts of stuff for breakfast including a salad just because that's what I felt like having. To me I eat what I know is going to fuel my body to get me going for the day.
B: coffee and egg/cheese omelet
L: deli sandwich
D: grilled haddock
30 minutes on the treadmill
Here are some of my pictures from last night. Have a great day and weekend everyone!!!
Here is how I deal with leftovers. I look at them and tell myself they will either go into the garbage or into the sewer system. Do I really need to run them through my body and put them in the sewer. The answer is a definite No and they go into the garbage.

Happy Thursday everybody. Hope the final day of your audit is short and sweet! Sorry I didn't participate in Wednesday's menu-- I'm stumbling a bit with food. Contrave works so well that it's hard choosing to eat and the leftovers from half-eaten meals are piling up. Waste is bad but I may just chuck them to get rid of eating pressure. At the 1 month mark I'm allowing back a few wheat products weekly and hope that a Carb Master tortilla will be appealing.
Grandson #1 has his final softball game tonight and there's a LOT of walking to get to the diamond. I'm worrying will my worst leg swell immediately, embarrass myself by falling or be a spectacle trying to get up out of a chair. I can't wait for PT to start next week. Too bad Contrave doesn't fix compulsive worrying, haha. Keeping focused on how fun it will be to see him play. He went from newborn to 10 in the blink of an eye.
QOTD: I used to love sitting in on meetings because it took me off the sales floor (loved customer service but dreaded cashiering). Extended classes? No, they usually made me get sleepy and that's embarrassing, lol.
Here's how I hope today goes:
B: SF Almond Milk Collagen Latte
L: 1/3 c Shiratake noodles, 2 T spaghetti sauce, 1/2 c LF cottage cheese
D: 2 romain leaves, 2 oz turkey breast, 2 slices tomato, 1/4 c. avocado
Game Snack: Fairlife Protein shake
LS: 1 stalk celery, 2 T peanut butter
I hope everybody has a great day and enjoys nice summer weather. It will be 83 today then we climb to the 90's for a few days (way too hot for me) and come down again to perfection: mid 70's.

Good morning, everybody!
Today was like the 3rd day in a row where I woke up feeling like it was Friday. Oh, well, tomorrow it will be for real.
We had a great time on our fishing trip, but coming home on Sunday evening definitely made for a long week.
Today we are doing a charity event for work and it is being held up by the Wisconsin border. So it should be a fun day, but also a long drive home. I would like to get to CrossFit tonight since Marilyn is playing tennis.
We have lunch and dinner at the event, lunch is Panera and dinner is pizza.
QOTD: I'm not going to lie, it hurts my butt and back to sit still for so long.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: sandwich or salad
Dinner: Pizza
Have a great day, all!
