I have another NSV to share!!!
I'm so very happy this afternoon! Even through all the setbacks and struggles after my RNY last year, I couldn't be more happy with the outcome.
Earlier today I took a trip to the mall. I had to go to GNC for my protein and some vitamins, so I figured I'd stop in at J.C. Penney to buy some new slacks for work and maybe jeans. I go there because I can always find a true petite size that fits me well there. Anyway...
I go to Penney's first. The slacks I bought back in October (Size 8P) are too loose and being held up with a belt. My jeans (Size 6P), which were given by my mom, are also too small. So I grab a Size 6P in slacks and a Size 4P in jeans and head to the fitting room. Turns out they were all way too loose! So as I head back to the racks, I'm thinking "this can't be true!" It took a while to find pants that were smaller than the first ones I picked, but I managed to find some. Come to find out I now fit into a Size 2P in jeans and a Size 4P in slacks... I HAVE NEVER WORN SIZES THAT SMALL!!!
As I stood in the fitting room looking in the mirror, I started to cry. A year ago I was wearing a Size 22W in slacks and a Size 18W in jeans. Now here I was wearing Size 2P and Size 4P respectively and they fit perfectly. I wiped my tears, looked and myself again and just started beaming with so much pride in myself. After I hit GNC, I called my husband to give him the news. We've been together since high school (more than 22 years). He was speechless! I can't wait to show him when he gets home tonight. I have yet to tell my mom, but will when she drops my daughter off this afternoon after school.
So there's my newest NSV... and yes, I'm smiling as I type this!
Very cool - and so much fun! I found I shopped at Penney's a lot too early out - back when they had sales and coupons.. ;)
