Greetings all

Lots of chatter today! Love it. I am luxuriating at home controlling the tv while DH is on safari to Romeo lunch, Target and Costco. Incoming shrimp later in the day. Meanwhile I plan to hit the gym and bank and another nursery for the elusive sweet peas.

Paula thinking of you and wedding festivities. Hope it all goes well and I bet it does. Fun and memories.

Yes Ann I too would be super annoyed about the incorrect paint and finishes. This stuff matters because you live with it every day!! Many years ago I had a decorator who bolloxed orders and sent over the wrong counter top finishes. So annoying. Wishing you better luck for the rest of the remodel. But lucky you on the lift button on the car. My car has no such feature and I wi**** did. Major convenience.

Poppy is not feeling well. She just stands and acts weird. I think it is a gut issue. Seems a little better than last nigh****ching closely.

Liz that restaurant sounds great. You guys know how to find the fun. Meanwhile I googled hot dog and wine pairings. There are such things. But that menu does not look anything like ballpark food. Looks good.

Yay Peps on normal sized shirts. Also on new pic.

Yeah the calla lillies are weeds. I did not plant them. They often grow in ditches etc. We have some lovely weed plants around here but also some frightful ones. Himalayan blackberries grow everywhere around here and they will completely take over a lot if allowed. They are relentless and have horrid stickers. The berries can be eaten but you are scratched badly if you try to pick. Nasty.

Ocean Diane interesting about your on line friend. Ann is right - caution is good. So much information out there. A few years ago I got an email from a friend I had not heard from in awhile. Kind of odd. I responded. Then she told me she was in Dubai for an oil company shareholder meeting and had her purse stolen and could I wire her $1300! Fat chance. I did contact the actual friend. Anyway, proceed with caution. Good on you for doing homework.

Time to get out and about. Sweet peas await.

Diane S

Ocean ... I also did that investigatory stuff Liz did when I met my DH via match.com.

I also checked Kentucky state corporate records, bankruptcy records, real estate records, and arrest records. Some of that stuff is publicly available, but I also have access to mega-legal database connections vis friends who are still working with access to the kinds of subscription databases law firms commonly access.

And for those without access to those kinds of databases, even the Facebook transparencies that our (older) generation often shares offer a trove of information--just the pure volume of it is sometimes overwhelming. Another thing I've found is that because men seldom post as much to their FB pages as women do (yes, that's a real thang), their women friends and relatives may tag them in photos memorializing family and social events.

Also, just knowing someone's email address can also lead you to information that may be revelatory.

And, of course, a bare bones LinkedIn account with little info and little activity for a serious professional can also be revelatory in a negative way.

I like these. Lighter cotton (98% cotton, 2% elastane). Not too heavy at all. Look at the Portsider Chino on the J Crew site.

DH needs new comfortable shorts. His older ones are really heavy cotton and not so great in the heat.

Very interesting. I am glad you are being cautious because who knows sometimes? Have you googled him extensively to determine that he is a real person and what he has told you is true? I was able to figure out DH's full name pretty quickly that way and then to confirm via property records that he did own homes where he said he did. I also cross-checked pictures on Linked-in to his dating site picture and checked that he showed as previously employed at a couple of companies he mentioned (As CFO he had been listed on their sites at one point). And some of those white pages type sources showed him as associated with his kids. I did have at least a couple of fakers send notes on the dating site but I googled everyone once I got enough info to confirm (or not) that they were real. One guy said he was a Diamond Merchant to which I replied that I had buried treasure in the backyard. His profile disappeared a minute later.

Wow! Such a small thing to cause much angst. Must be a valet thing?

If your marriage can survive this remodel you are in great shape! I would be incredibly stressed out.

The paint situation would infuriate me! I'm a stickler on paint brand and finish, too. I'm sad that Kelly Moore is now defunct because they had the BEST washable dog paint EVER!
