This exactly. Too many of our tribe members, including yourself, dealt with the illness of a spouse, or their own illness. RIP Shel. If not now, when?
So love the party like it's 199.9 comment to Peps! I literally laughed out loud! Have fun on the treadmill!
123.7. Still going down but very slowly so I think I'll be fine.
Aruba looks great Liz! Sounds like a place we should check out? Are there areas that are not safe there like Jamaica?
Peps, Onederland is just about here! You can do it!!!
Diane, all your plans sound fantastic! Great way to spend your first year of retirement!
CC, glad the patches are helping your spinning some. So sorry you are going through it though and going through it alone. I know it pretty mu*****apacitates DH!
Today we went to church, then grocery shopping and then a nice walk. I'm going to replenish my card supply (I sold 59 at the Door County Art fair) and then tonight we are grilling out burgers, mushroom Swiss for me please! Later on we are going to try and chase the Aurora tonight!
Greetings all
More sun and breeze. I am making a note to check out the tide tables for a super low one. That's the day the sea creatures are visible. I missed the lowest one but there will be more.
Yay for traditions Liz. Anything involving pizza sounds like a good one. Enjoy the sun.
Yesterday I did my walking. I still don't especially like it but if I distract myself with a classic football game plus music (George Michael yesterday) and icy water I can trudge through. Reminded myself of the exercise snacks. Also reminded myself that when we went to Italy I ate gelato and pizza and wine daily but walked so much I gained no weight. Like duh.
CC glad you found a bit of relief. Vertigo sounds so awful. Glad you messaged your doctor. Hoping you get relief from Paula's suggestion. Maybe your friend who was *****y could redeem herself by going and getting some for you. Hope you get the rain you want. I bet the lightning is spectacular there.
What Peps you bathe your dog on a show day? I had no clue. Maybe not a full on bath. Hope you win big. And party like it's 199.9. Love that song.
We had quiche last night. Quite good. Plus enough for two more dinners. Not exactly health food but there is protein (okay bacon).
DD all your befriending sounds fun. Take advantage. And agreed, do the travel while you can even if it is beans - ville later. Probably won't be the case. Being retired is sort of adult Disney Land. You will find out.
CC thanks for the show tip. We started "The Residence" last night. Fun. And we have powered through Your Friends and Neighbors. Also super good.
And another thing about retirement: I LIKE Mondays. The kiln opens, tv news goes back to normal, I do a gallery trip, and the weekly cycle starts anew with only promise, not dread. It's a good thing.
Well onward. There is a treadmill with my name on it. And then to the studio...

So many choices! Travel while you have your health - you never know when something may change.

I'm glad the vertigo is less - it really does sound miserable so hopefully your physician can help.

On Friday, we started watching Your Friends and Neighbors. It's A dark comedy, starring Jon Hamm. I am a big fan. The two episodes we watched were fun. It's on Apple TV and Prime.
As expected, Aruba looks beautiful today! Enjoy.
CC, these vertigo attacks sound absolutely miserable. I'm so sorry you have to endure this.
Peps, very enticing number on the scale. Seeing 199 or less is always a motivating moment.
We had a very nice time at the retirement party, visiting with people we haven't seen for awhile. You know how you become friends with your friend's friends because you see them at birthday parties, weddings etc? That's how last night was. Lots of fun talk about traveling. One couple who we've known for awhile who are from Mexico are building a house in Tulum and were immediately offering invitations to visit them. The party was for DH's bff's wife, who is also of course, my good friend too. We made plans to take her Mom to our coffee shop, because it is in the neighborhood where she grew up. We made plans to take BFFs Mom with us to see Macbeth at the Guthrie in March. BFFs brother, who over the years has become our friend also, has invited us to his home near Fort Myers many times. I think the opportunity to accept this offer is coming soon. :) And now we are deciding if we are going to go to Argentina before we head to Brazil in January. Our friend and his family are going before Christmas until January 5. We won't leave my parents and kids for Christmas, but might stop in Argentina first around January 1, and then head to Brazil after they leave for Minnesota. The way this is going, we should be broke by 2027 and living off beans and rice. Could be worth it though! :)
Today we are meeting some friends for dinner. Then back to work for 2 more weeks.

Thank you, Paula, for mentioning meclizine. I didn't have any and driving felt like a bad idea yesterday, but I do have leftover scopolamine patches so I looked up vertigo and scopolamine and they can be used for it as well. So I popped one on and slept better last night. I'm still a little dizzy, but it calmed my eyes moving a bit. DianeS, I emailed my doctor about it so at the very least she can put it in my file, but maybe she has ideas too.
StormWatch 2025. I'm waiting for rain today and tomorrow. Yay! Fingers crossed.
I started a new show on Netflix. Dept Q. It's great so far. I'm also caught up on Clarkson's Farm on Prime. I love that show!
Anyway, that's it from Spinning Sedona!
