I've been out of work the last two days going through pre-admissions testing and nutritional counseling.  The pre-admissions went by quickly (quicker than expected I should say).  Dr. Minasian gave me clearance - and with only one prescription for an infection he found.  He really made me feel better about my decision for surgery.  Nice guy!

Nutritional counseling took longer than I expected.  All that information could be really overwhelming except that I had already done so much research about eating and such.

The liquid diet (15-day surgical kit) has not gone as well...  I cheated (supplemented with real food) for the first 3 days.  Today, I'm back on track and hope to get through the day without cheating.  It's really important for recovery that I boost my proteins!

I definitely have an obsessive compulsive personality!  I have spent all weekend on this dang computer reading up on RNY and Dr. Farhan... eventhough I had already done enough research.  My goal was to write my letter to family and friends, but I kept getting side tracked.  I finally finished my letter, and wouldn't you know it, my printer is running very low on ink.  I was hoping to get the letter in their hands before the Thanksgiving visit.  Maybe it is for the best...  They won't be watching what I eat.
