I forget to post the last two days!  But I am done with the Plateau Buster Diet and I lost 10 lbs. I think I would of done a little bit better but by Monday night I caved and had a half serving of cereal.  Funny but cereal is something I almost never eat!  I just wanted something a little bit sweet with a crunch.  I am going to continue with the high protein and logging everyday on fitday.  It helps me alot to actually see what I am eating and all the calories, protein, fat ect.   I walked today but only once for 35 minutes at work.  Yesterday or maybe that was Monday-  hubby and dog and I did an hour and 10 minutes after I got out of work plus I did 45 minutes at work.  I need to do that everyday!  The day's are just starting to stay light a little bit longer so I am hoping that my walking partner at work will start walking after work soon.  I am going to feel her out and see what she thinks.  If not I have another friend who wants to start walking with us during the day but it doesn't always work out for her.  Maybe she will want to walk after work?  I'll have to see about that possibility.  I think I need some more friends- the kind that like to exercise.

Before I forget, I just posted that I've done 533 minutes so far for the month for the 2010 exercise challenge.  I might go jump on the treadmill after I get done here to bump up my time some.  I really would like to walk twice at work but my regular walking partner has only been doing once a day with me.  Maybe it's time to find someone else for the afternoons.  It's amazing how many people would rather die than do any kind of exercise!

Plateau Buster Diet update.  I was at 150 even this morning so I am down 8.8lbs in 6 days!  The weight has slowed down but I knew it would.  As long as it keeps coming off I am ok with that.  First meal today:  3oz ground turkey with taco seasonings, 1 oz low fat cheese, 1 T low fat sour cream, 1T salsa.  Second meal:  3 oz turkey loaf- that's ok but it is higher in sodium and fat than I'd like.  Third meal:  3 oz chicken made in a pressure cooker YUM!!!  mixed in about 2 T salsa and 1T low fat sour cream.  I have a problem most of the time with chicken but not with this mixture and it was sooo good.  It equals 60 grams of protein and 17.2 grams carbs, 28.6 grams fat and 543 calories.  I know I can and should eat a couple more times but I am not hungry and because I added the salsa and sour cream which I shouldn't of I am going to call it good.  I already have my lunch packed for tomorrow but I need to go do the dishes.  That will give me some time for my last meal to kind of settle then I think I will go get on the treadmill for a bit.  Later....

ETA I did get on my  treadmill.  I did 45 minutes very brisk walking/jogging and 10 minutes cool down and mild stretching.  My new total is 588 minutes.

Day 5, I think.  Doing great.  Feel even better today than I did yesterday.  I do believe that the carb cravings have past.  Today I did 30 minutes on my WII fit and then walked/hiked for 55 minutes out in the cold with my dog and hubby.   So far today I've eaten 3 oz ground turkey with taco seasonings, 1 oz low fat cheese, 1T low fat sour cream, 1 T salsa- that was breakfast/lunch.  For dinner I had 3 oz grilled steak.  I had to eat super slow and chew really well.  I've also had a tall glass of water with 2T benefiber mix in.  Not hungry right now and an going to go take a shower before the movie "He's just not that into you"  comes back on.  I watched about 30 minutes of it and it looks really good so I want to watch the whole thing.  Later...

The Red Wings play tonight I think against LA Kings.  I sure hope they win!  They need to start winning a bit more if there going to make the playoffs.  Anyway, today I walked for 30 minutes outside- not our normal trail but my walking partner didn't want to do the trail she was sore so we just did the straight away.  Breakfast:  3 oz cottage cheese, lunch: 3oz ground turkey with taco seasoning and about 1 oz or less mexican blend cheese, snack: 3 oz roast beef.  For dinner tonight I will have more of the taco meat and cheese.  Right now I am drinking water with 2T benefiber added.  My calories have been really low the first 3 days so I added a bit more protein to the next.  I'm feeling really good, just a bit tired but TOM came to visit and he always makes me tired.    Later...

Oops!  I forgot to blog yesterday so today is for today and yesterday!!  So far so good.  I have followed the Plateau Busters Diet and have lost 6.2lbs total!!!  I know it's just water weight but I don't care I will take it.  I started out at 158.8lbs and this morning I weight 152.6.  My lowest so far has been 145.2 and that was post op from my last plastic surgery.  I want to get down to the low 140's or high 130's.  I think I will be comfortable there and will be able to maintain it ok.  It will be interesting to see how much I actually lose during this 10 days.  The first day was probably the hardest because I just wanted to eat but I didn't and by the second day that urge had subsided alot.  Today I feel great but a little bit tired.  Today Sue, Scott and I walked outside for 45 minutes doing the nature trail near our work.  It was about 22 degrees out but it wasn't windy out so it was ok.    Yesterday Sue and I walked for about 35 minutes but we walked inside.  So far today I've had:  3 oz cottage cheese at about 8:30, 3 oz roast beef at noon.  At 3pm I had my calcium chew which is pretty good.  Right now I am drinking an 8oz glass of cold water with 2 T benefiber mixed in.  I've also had about 20 oz of bottle water.  I really need to drink more.  I am making ground turkey with taco seasonings.  So I will have 2-3 oz of meat and no more than 1 oz low fat cheese.    I've also chewed several pieces of sugar free gum.  My calories according to fitday.com have been really low so I'm thinking I will need to bump it up a little bit.  After the 10 days I am planning on doing the diet but adding milk, some fruits and veggies which is what I should of been doing all along.  Between the Holidays and all the traveling and eating out I just felt I really needed to do this diet just to get myself back on track.  That's about it for now, I will blog again tomorrow.

Ok, so far so good!  I walked for 35 minutes at a pretty quick pace today.  Not sure yet if I will walk again on my treadmill tonight.  The weather was so bad that we walked inside today.  Day one on the Platueau Buster Diet has gone pretty well also.  So far todayI've eaten:  9am  3 oz low fat cottage cheese, noon:  2oz lean ground  turkey with taco seasoning and 1 oz low fat mexician blend cheese.  At 3pm  another 3 oz low fat cottage cheese.  In about a half hour at 6pm  I will have 3 oz roast beef Au Jus.  If I need to I will have a scrambled egg before bed, but only if I am seriously hungry.  I am also using fitday again to help keep track of exercise and food intake.  It's way to easy to THINK your eating enough when really your over eating or possibly under eating.  I have dusted off my food scale too.  Other than just wanting more I am doing good.  It helped that I was really busy today at work and so far tonight I've been busy paying bills online and blogging and logging onto fitday.  I also need to check up on facebook- I am addicted to farmville and sority life!  See ya tomorrow!

Jan 03, 2010

Well I've decided to do the Platueau Buster Diet for the next 10 days starting tomorrow.  I have about 10ish lbs I want to lose to be at goal.  Maybe more, I haven't gotten on the scales for a few weeks and with the holidays and all those goodies it's possible I've gained a few lbs.  Oh well, it's a new year and time for a new fresh start.  I must admit I am glad to be going back to work tomorrow.  It helps structure my day.  I am planning on walking during my morning break and hopefully after work again.  If I don't walk after work I can alway use my  treadmill at home.  I used it today for about 35 minutes plus another 10 minutes of cool down and stretches.  I used my exercise ball and boy I sure could feel it!  It's the first time since my tummy tuck that I've used it and man oh man I sure could feel it.  I need to get my "lunches" ready for tomorrow so this will have to be short.  I plan on blogging everyday to update and to keep myself on track and honest.  I've been thinking too that I want to start running again.  I was running/jogging pretty regular before my plastic sugeries and I haven't even tried since.  I've been given the green light to do just about anything I want so I need to start pushing myself a bit.  I know I can do it, I just need to DO IT!  With the Platueau Buster Diet taking care of my food intake and exercising daily and joining the 2010 challenge I should be able to drop the weight and get myself back on track in no time.  Ok, wish me luck!

Dec 30, 2009

It's been awhile since I've even logged on to OH.  Been busy plus I find myself going to facebook when I do get on the computer.  Time for an update.  I am 4 months posts op on the tummy tuck and 3 months post op on the breast lift and reduction.  I feel pretty good no major complaints.  My tummy is kind of tight feeling still, not sure if that will fade over time or if I'll just become use to it but it doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as it did.   I wear a flexee tank type camisole under my tops everyday and that really helps to make me feel better.  Monday I had my first and hopefully last vomiting episode!  It was truly gross!  I was eating ribeye steak, medium rare, took to big a bite and bam!  My band slammed shut.  It felt like I was having a heart attack!!  I started sliming and producing ALOT of mucus.  I tryed spitting and not swallowing but it didn't work.  It took about 45 minutes and 4 vomits but I finally brought up the piece of meat that just wouldn't go down.  I vomitted mostly mucus and it was so gross.  My stomach felt upset for the next day and a half.  I did liquids the rest of Monday all of Tuesday and all of today.  I did have some soup this evening- campbells vegetable beef that I did not put in the blender but chewed really well.  My stomach feels just about back to normal.  Tomorrow I will take it slowly and am planning on doing just soft mushies for another day or so.  Up til then the worse thing I'd experience was mild sliming if I took too big a bite or ate something too dry.  It was scary, I am over 2 yrs post op on my band and am pretty confident I did no damage to my band, but I can see how it could slip if this would of happened before my band "seeded itself".  Vomitting is to be avoided at ALL COSTS!

Christmas was wonderful, but I am glad to be back home and back into a more normal routine.  I don't go back to work until Monday but I plan on enjoying the rest of my time off.  I picked up my dog this evening at the kennel and man did she ever miss me!  She has been at my feet ever since we got home with her.  I missed her too.

I joined the 2010 exercise challenge starting on Jan 1st.  I need to get my butt in gear!  My walkiing partner at work and I are going to TRY and walk twice a day 4 days a week.  Plus I want to get back into the habit of walking at least twice on the weekends for longer periods of time.  I need to just do it!

I will make a better effort of logging/blogging this year.  It helps to keep me on track when I do.  Until later.....

It's been awhile so I thought I'd do a quick update on life.  My washer and dryer were delivered about a week or so ago.  I love them!  I went with a Whirlpool front load washer and got the matching dryer in a cranberry red.  It's so nice!  I think everyone should have one.  It does a really great job on cleaning and spinning the water out.  The clothes are barely wet when you take them out of the washer!!

I am feeling better and better with each passing day.  I haven't been wearing the binder much and as time goes on it doesn't bother me near as much as it did.  I still wear it a little bit, like a few days before starting my period- those days seem like the worse to me.  My boobs are kind of sore today, yesterday I went on a VERY bumpy ride with my husband.  Never again!  Or at least not until I am 100% healed.  Man, I am sore.  I still wear either my bra binder or a sports bra 27/7.  The supports feels good and Dr DiNick told me too.  Not sure if the cocoa butter and vitamin E are going what they are suppose to be doing, but I think it takes time, like months before you notice.  I am completely healed on the outside and according to Dr DiNick it will take 6+ months for the breast to heal and up to a year and a half for the tummy.  Actually what he said is it could take up to a year and half for the numbness to fade around the tummy, if it was going to fade more than it has already.

My daughter is doing really good and she is just about back to 100%.  She made up what work she could while she was out sick and just finished taking that last test on material that was covered while she was in the hospital.  She didn't do to bad and was above the class average- but still not as good as she would've liked.  She will be done with classes here in a couple more weeks and she can relax some.  Classes don't start up again until the middle of January.  I'm trying to talk her into coming home for a few days for christmas with out the boyfriend.  If not I will see her the day after christmas as we will be going down to see everyone.

I got my hair cut yesterday.  It is very short!  At least very short for me.  It's really curly too, left over perm my hair dresser said.  That and I have a bit of curl and wave naturally in my hair.  It looked cute when Jennifer blew it dry, the real test will be if I can duplicate it on Monday.

I have been walking just once a day Monday- Thursday with my walking partner at work.  I want to start walking twice but it just hasn't worked out yet.  I will keep trying.  As soon as I feel like I can, I will start walking on my treadmill when Sue can't walk.  I've avoided the treadmill as the jarring is more than when I walk outside.  Maybe it's all in my head but I know what I feel and the treadmill is more jarring.

My next appointment with Dr DiNick is Dec 9th not sure what he will do other than look me up and down.  I like him and it's really not as weird as it sounds.  I am going to schedule my hormone pellet insertion hopefully on the 10th or 11th.  I just had my blood work done on Tuesday and I am sure my levels are low.

I have started my christmas shopping but it's going to be a lean christmas this year what with my hours being cut and my husband taking a 5% cut in pay.  But I am truly thankful that we both still have jobs.  It could be so much worse.

I will try to update this more often.  I find myself spending much of my computer time over on facebook these days.

My appointment with Dr DiNick went really well and he wants to see me again on Dec 9th.  I think the time is either 10am or 10:30 I can't remember.  He told me to start using Palmers cocoa butter with vitamin E 3 times a day, massaging it in the my scars.  I like the smell of it.  Plus it's alot cheaper than some of the products out there claiming to help minimize scars.   My weight has been right around 145-147 since my surgery.  I would like to lose about 10ish more lbs.  Starting tomorrow I am going to start walking more regularly.  I have been walking but not everyday and only once.  If Sue can I want to walk twice tomorrow.  If I do it at work I'm more likely to do it.

I am due Nov 17th to get my blood work done for my hormone pellets.  Since I have an appointment already on Dec 9th I am going to try to schedule my appointment with Dr Garcia either on the 10th or 11th and make a long weekend of it at my parents.  No since traveling down every week, besides I can't afford the gas!   This will actually work out really good for me too, since my insurance no longer covers any part of the pellet insertion I will have more money the first week of Dec.

Stepfanie is doing pretty good.  Her follow up appointment with the specialist is this coming Tuesday.   She has several questions she is going to ask.  Hopefully, she will be feeling 100% soon.  She is still getting short of breath pretty easy.

Well I need to go pack my stuff for work tomorrow- later.
