Happy 4 Month Surgiversary to Me!!!

April 7, 2011: On December 7th, 2010, 4months out seemed like an eternity! I certainly couldn't fathom having a weight loss of 80 pounds! Wow! God is so good and I am thankful for this blessing of a new beginning.So far things have been going well. I am still working on my nutrition and food intake. So many things still don't stay down but it's getting better. Everything is so very different, especially my good health...diabetes free and getting dressed...wearing much smaller clothes that actually look good!
One thing I haven't completely conquered is my confidence and I guess with time that will get better. For instance I went to a friend's baby shower this weekend past and I still felt like the biggest woman in the room. Although everyone kept saying that I looked great, I think they were just being nice, honestly. I can't say biggest person because there was a gentleman who was quite large complaining of how bad his back was hurting and I wanted to share my secret weapon with him...WLS...but not everyone is susceptible to receiving information like that so I kept my mouth shut. Now in terms of my confidence and me feeling like the biggest woman in the room, well actually I was the biggest one! Still!!! Even after having lost 80lbs!. It's going to take so much for me to feel really good about the way that I look. I have my moments when I feel simply fabulous and then there are the other moments that seem to last longer...hmm. Not always happy and cheery but working on it.
On a brighter note, my husband is ecstatic!!! And so is my family. I have been getting compliments from random men & women...people i don't even know! So that has been huge ego booster...lol! Just being honest.
I have been enjoying my children thoroughly. This week is their Spring Break and we have done some fun things, mainly outdoors. Today is a bummer because the pollen count is too high here for me to take my son out. He has terrible allergies and is highly allergic to pollen. But they well be going out on a date with their Nanny & Poppy later and hubby & I are going to try to squeeze in a date night. Not sure if that is going to happen because he has been diligently helping my brothers' with some construction at their new business. I'm crossing my fingers! I want to get dressed up for him even if I can't really eat much at least we will be together minus the kids! We haven't done this in forever! It would be a great way to celebrate my 4 month surgiversary!
I have to remember that I am a work in progress. One day at a time, one calorie at a time, one pound at a time, one smile at a time...
