HI! My name is Rita, I am 23 years old 5'3.5 (yes the .5 matters to me) and I weigh a horrid 250 pounds.... I've been fat pretty much all my life and have been dieting since I came to the US. I came to the US from Hungary when i was 6 years old. My mom and dad got divorced when I was 6 months and my mom moved to America and I followed 8 montsh later. My mom has always been skinny, she is the same height as I am and was like in the high 90's (as in like 99 pounds, no there is no number missing) after she had me. She has always beens uper skinny and I guess she didn't think I would ever be happy being fat, which I am not, thus the dieting began.

I have gained and lost so much weight I could probably make 3 people out of it. The problem is every time I lost weight I gained it back... and then some! every time I dieted I gaine an additional 10-30 pounds! So much to the point that now, at 250 I am scared to death to go on another diet.

Granted most of my diets have been with some form of medication, starving myself, or other as seen on tv diet pills. None the less I have tried the good old diet, exercise and eat right... it works!... until I decided to have the tiniest bit of extra something and BAM all the weight comes back.

I am sure some of you can relate to this. I after doing research on and off for two years have decided to get the Lap Band procedure done.

BUT!

Here comes the fun part...

I know my insurance won't cover it becuase i rarely go to the doctor and being 23 i don;t have a huge list of medical conditions. So instead of the insurance company helping me out and being like oh wow if we pay for this surgery you will really be saving us tons of money from the lack of prescriptions pills/dr. visits/whatever you would need if you were over weight, they just say you are 23 and have no record and slam the door in my face. I can tell them left and right that diabetes, stroke, clotted arteries, heart burn, back problems (which I have now), and high blood pressure run in my family but does that make a difference? NO! *sigh* okay so that wasa little rant, don't mind me.

So here I am, 23 years old, FAT!, going to school (and graduating in May hopefuly), working full time, and trying to find a place that would be willing to pay for this surgery.

I have figured out that I can pay about 300 dollar a month for a loan thats for like $16,000. The idea of gettingthe surgery done for half that price in Mexico is extremely appealing but yeah.. its mexico they could take out a liver or kidney or something and I would never know... okay so I am exagurating but still.... scary stuff and I would want to meet with a lot more people who have been down there.

So here goes, ANYONE WHO READS THIS AND KNOWS OF A PLACE OR WORKS AT A PLACE I CAN GET FINANCED PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE!!!

Of course if you just want to be friends that would be awesome too. I have so much to say right now but I am at work... so I have made this thing long enough. I am going to try and be good and keep up with this blog.

Oh one more thing! if you are reading this and paid for the surgery out of pocket please tell me how much it was in total that you had to pay and where you had it done. I am trying to find a good surgeon but also a good price.
